Hi everyone

This is a thread for anyone who wants to join me in my anti-mission. I have set up an organisation called FUCCU - Friends United to Counteract the Christian Union. Attatched is a flyposter, please put them up everywhere you see annoying Ciccu leaflets! More to come...

Yes, same idea's been floating round for a while, in fact last year I actually tried to set up a society called fuccu, to give talks on the gospels of Marx. I guess I should also add this.

I feel sure that everybody who has ever been marginally agitated by CICCU has come up with a similar idea to be honest. Just doing my bit and all that.

I go to church every Sunday, am a member of the Methodist society, but I want to join. I find CICCU, like most Christian Union groups, to be very forceful and trying to shove religion "down people's throats." I think they give Christians a bad name.

in a campaign such as this, it's probably quite important to give specific details of what ciccu have done to upset you - you cant just say "this is what they do in general, and I don't think that's a good thing", you need to give examples of where they have behaved inappropriately in your opinion

^o) My reaction was to wonder how much of my life they were wasting, concluding it to be nearly zero, and then getting on with my life.

Surely there are more worthwhile things to be doing in Cambridge? It's not like you'll actually achieve anything. This is like trying to counteract mosquitoes by putting up signs saying "mosquitoes are rubbish". It's just as irritating, and doesn't even have the excuse that you're trying to save souls.

As I've said, I have no problem with Christianity, I'd be in a bit of conflict of interest if I was, as I am a Christian. It just really annoys me that they give many Christians reputations as bible-bashers.

So what exactly are you campaigning for? Are you campaigning for a change in their approach? Are you trying to get rid of them all together?

Yeah, unlike the Bible which has many verses dedicated to how you should not preach to anyone is case they think you're a bit of a saddo. :rolleyes:

Being a bible-basher is kinda the point.
