Further Maths VS Chemistry

Chemistry VS Further Maths

Which one should I choose? I want to know which subject is more enjoyable/interesting. My other 3 A-Levels are going to be Maths, Physics and Computing. I would like to do a Computer Science degree at University. Probably at Birmingham University (The University of Birmingham). Further Maths isn't a requirement at this University so I want to know which subject is more enjoyable/interesting. Also, if anybody wants to give me advice on which subject I should drop that would be great.

Lastly, I don't know whether I should go to Solihull Sixth Form or JCC. Help on which Sixth Form to go to will also be appreciated.

Chemistry always...Further Maths is too much maths...Chemistry opens many many doors and is one of the most respected subjects at A-level, Unless you want to do Maths at university...further maths should not be an option.

For a computer science degree, further maths will be more advantageous. As far as I'm aware, Imperial asks for it if you can take it, at least to AS. You'd be a fool not to.

Further Maths is so much fun. Chemistry will take up lots of your time as there is a lot of content to know.

you want to do CS?

then its a no brainer, obvious pick further maths. Chemistry has next to no use for that degree whatsoever

But apparently it's hard.

What's fun about Further Maths? And which subject should I drop?

Well I do both and I have to say they're both equally as interesting. But yeah, 'internet tough guy'(really?) has a point. Do further maths.

It contains matrices which I'm pretty sure is needed for CS.

I live in Birmingham. I'm not going to go to Imperial University.

What's matrices? Also, why do you like the haber process? Would you rather choose Further Maths if you were in my position?

Okay, let me re-phrase that - many top universities will ask for further maths.

I would take Further Maths, but chemistry is more interesting. If you apply to Imperial/Oxford you would be expected to have taken FM if it's offered by your school.

But Birmingham University doesn't ask for it. Which University do you recommend for someone living I Birmingham?

Dude i'm an idiot and yet i got averaged 95+ums in my AS modules, and it was self taught as well because teachers cbb. The A2's get alot tougher, but as it stands I just need to scrape a C this year to get an A overall.

Do you think it's easier than Chemistry? What's the maximum amount of UMS that you can get?

You don't have to go to university where you live...

Matrices determine the movement of a point in space( e.g. rotation). If you're supposed to be interested in computer science, surely you should know this? Ah well I like chem, particularly equilibrium and hey presto, haberprocess. YES DO FURTHER MATHS IF YOU WANT TO GET INTO COMPUTER SCIENCE. IT IS A REQUIREMENT BY MOST UNIS AND IF NOT, AN ADVANTAGE.

Chemistry is a lot harder than F.maths IMHO, but I guess it depends on your interests.

Proof of Induction is the best part. I just love maths, it's such a beautiful subject. I would suggest don't do chemistry if you wanted to do computer science, but at the end of the day, it is your decision. See what the content of all the courses are and then make your judgement.
