LSE Residences

Poll

Which LSE Residence/s is/are the "best" (state your definition of "best")?

Seeing as there are so many threads on "What's the accomodation at LSE like? Which residence is the best?....", I thought I'd make a poll on the accomodation at LSE. Would the current LSE students do us a favour by voting for the one/s they think is/are best. If possible could you elaborate on what you mean by "best" as well? Many thanks! :yy:

If you vote for 3 or more, it defeats the purpose. But if you have a valid reason for doing so, feel free to do so as long as you justify your votes .

EDIT: If you're not from LSE, but happen to know a little bit about the residences, feel free to vote . Thank you.

 How in the world did that happen? I have no idea how to fix it. Hmm, are you sure you didn't tick all the boxes by accident?

Yeah, it's better now. Doesn't matter really, since you put down the one you meant to vote for. Cheers.
Well I went for Rosebery, for various reasons which I can't be bothered to outline lol.

Lol, you're not the only voter who can't be bothered to outline. 14 voters, and not one single explanation :frown:. Hehe. Nevermind. I think I know which one I'll be going for. Bankside's under construction so it's going to be quite noisy, I hear. Hmmm, does anyone know if High Holborn will be under construction anytime soon? I hope not.

Bankside has got lots of construction work going on next to it, so for people living on that side of the building it can be a real annoyance. I doubt very much High Holborn will have any building work going on near to it, well nothing that would create large volumes of noise anyway.

Its not that I can't be bothered to outline my explanation, its just there are so many threads on this topic in which I have explained why I think Rosebery is the best hall, that if you really wanted to find my explanation all you have to do is look in these threads. HH is obviously going to rape all halls for location (except for the brand new Northumberland House or whatever its called), but I went to see that accomodation on the Open Day and I thought it was complete sh*te.

There are ~30 LSE undergrads in this hall in any one year. (undergrads meaning including year 1-3) I'm in this hall now and I think us LSE bunch have come to the conslusion that there are around 15~20 1st years. (this is out of a population of around 450 students btw)

I get the impression we're dominated by UCL students at this hall... (which makes sense since this hall is in their 'territory') You'd also be surprised at the number of Imperial students (more than LSE I think) considering how far IC is from here.

LSE traditionally has a quota of 30 undergrad students in this hall every year, although some say the number could fall next year.

I see. Then it is quite slim for me to get a place there. And to sanjiv, i think passfield is good if u don't mind sharing a room. I for one can't. Lol.

Passfield has single en suites too, no?

I never gave that residence any attention until one of my friends just told me that he was putting Passfield down as his 3rd choice after Holborn and Northumberland.
First year students must expect to share a room.
