Look at the upcoming films on IMDB. Its all remakes/sequels etc etc. Drives me mad!

You seem to be a knowledgable person about film creamcrackered. Have you seen a film called Dark City?
(1998 - Alex Proyas) with Rufus Sewell/Kiefer Sutherland
    What you think of it?
It was very good from what I remember of it. A very dark, harrowing tale of weird creatures trying to dominate mankind... or something like that. Very good and imaginative I thought...

As for cinema... although, yes lots of sequels/remakes are on the way, there are some flicks I look forward to.

    Grind House
    The Fountain
    The Departed
    London Fields
    Inland Empire

    and more...

I was also quite impressed with Lucky Number Slevin.

But I fear remakes/sequels outwiegh these new films at the cinema...

I wish I could transmit some of my ideas to film. They might not be amazing, but they're original

Dawn of the Dead remake was FAR better than Land of the Dead.
Yeah i agree with you on that but land of the dead just had to be made to see the so called "zombie future". Even though not even related character wise! 28 days later also quality film. Bought 4 mnore dvds the other day, national security, lock stock (classic i know), constantine and batman returns. Anyone seen Casino with De Niro? Underrated. Usual suspects was ok, good story but have to pay attention.... Also Donnie Basco, thats another gangster mafia classic. I want to get Heat with Al Pacino and De Niro, i think i am correct in saying the only film with both of them acting apart from Godfather 2 but they didnt along side each other. Film is underrated but i find some parts make me lose interest while others quality, especially the ending!

What did people think of Final Destination 3? I didnt really know what to expect coz I hadnt seen the other two, but it was ok. Typical american "horror" really. I don't think I'd want to watch it again. Much preferred Lucky number Slevin - that film was ace! 8.5/10 I'd give it! And Josh Hartnett isn't bad in it either

Glad you like Dark City - my fave film by far. Watched it 7 times so far, and still noticing new things every time i see it.

And as for tranmitting ideas to film - me too. Im writing a lot in my free timw working around my job. It may seem like a far fetched idea, but i plan to eventually submit scripts to studios. One in a million chance, but can only try.

watched 28 days later on 4 yesturday, not a bad film actually:eek: the scenes with the deserted London looked really good, and zombie type things that can actually run are much scarier than things that are slower than snails:rofl:. Although the ending did seem a bit strange though:s:,
    Spoiler:
    Show
him suddenly being able to beat a bunch of soldiers with battle experiance, and running around like solid snake:laugh:
but it was generally quite good

I love the begining of 28 Days Later. It is the complete silence that makes it so effective. I agree about the strange ending. In particular the very end..really don't get that bit at all All the stuff with the soliders gets quite disturbing!! The rage infected zombies are great..was trying explain to a friend yesterday that they are zombies but not exactly what you would expect as they are murderous rage zombies.

I watched, well have the DVD. I think the most convincing zombie film.....ashame something like this doesnt happen. I have watched the ending loads of times to try and actually listen to what the fighter pilot says when he does a fly over and reports in to the base, i think he says "he didnt see anything" - so the UK is effectively quarantined. Yeah, the part with the soldiers is disturbing and makes you think, who really is the monsters.....survivors or the zombies? And the general army guy, Chris Eccleston says when he says everyday when on service he say people killing each other and whats the difference now/currently....? hahaha the damn animal rights people! I pray something like that happens soon.......

They are trying to escape from the threat of monsters yet find a horror much worse in the form of those who are supposed to help. I like it. The film makes such a transition too, from the begining with the silence and an empty london to rage infected zombies. The contrast works well.
