How long for a full licence to arrive?

I sent off my provisional last wednesday and I was wondering how long everyone had to wait before their full one came through? It's weird driving about with absolutely no licence just now!

i suspect it will be about a week or two i mean thats how long my provisional took to come through so i suspect it'll be roughly the same for the full one

Think it's meant to come within 2 weeks of them receiving your provisional. That said, mine wasn't here after 4 weeks, and I had to phone them up and bug them for it - came about 2 days after my call.

I think mine came through quite quickly, maybe a week or just over?

I did send it off the day I passed my test though, so don't know if that had anything to do with it?

When I passed in September '04 (back in the days where you had to send your test pass certificate and £9 off :wink:

), they said it would take about 3 weeks for my license to arrive, but I sent it off right in the middle of some post office/Royal Mail strikes - I got my pink license less than a week later :biggrin:

I've got one of these new style provisional licenses with the small triangle which means something like they actually send it off for you and you don't need to worry about a thing. I gave them my license on wednesday when i passed and i'm still waiting for my full license to come through. They said to me I should be expecting it within one or two weeks. I want my pink license :p:

My examiner sent it off for me for free :smile:

It took just over a week. But when you pass you get a pass certificate, so take a photocopy of that with you when you go out driving!

My examiner sent mine off for me too (I hope!). He said, and on the back of the certificate it said, it'll be at your home within 3 weeks. I don't have it yet, so can't attest to that, but I guess that's the time frame you're looking at. Any more than that, give them a call.

I had to send off my pass certificate and £9 too cos I've had my provisional for so long (had it nearly 5 years although not been learning that long!). I'm just so impatient about getting my new licence!

I am so annoyed with the DVLA!!!!! I sent off my provisional with a change of address put on it too and my mum phoned today to tell me that my new licence has just arrived there. I phoned the DVLA today and it looks like no ones checked my licence when it arrived and they haven't changed my details. Now I need to get my mum to post it up here and then post it back to DVLA again and ask then to change my address. It means its going to be another couple of weeks before I get my proper licence. I am so mad!!!
