Has The Pill Worked?!

Ok, here is a bit of a problem that is really stressing me out..... :frown:

Basically this month was the first month on the combined pill. I started the pill within the last few days of my period & then waited over the 7 days you are meant to wait so you are protected before I had sex with my bf without a condom. Everytime we had sex, quite grossly, his cum used to come out at the end which is meant to be a sign that the pill is working (as far as I am aware) & I have been taking the pills religiously everyday with perhaps the odd day where I have taken it an hour or two late.

What's got me worried is that (I know this may sound minor!) I'm worrying the pill hasn't worked- although I know it is not 100% effective. I am now on the 2nd day of my break & I know the first month on the pill can be dodgy but I still haven't bled yet. I haven't even had the bad pains I normally get, just the odd very very slight tummy ache at night. I guess this could be just me worrying that the pill isn't working as it is my first month on it & I am conscious of not using condoms (I think I will in the future!) but is this just my body becoming confused due to starting on the pill or is there a possibility I could be pregnant?

It's more a sign that it is working.
the pill generally lessens period pains so that explains that, and i usually come on my period around 3 or 4 days after i stop taking my pill for the break..

Sounds completely normal to me. I don't usually start my period until the 3rd day of the break, and I don't get any period pains at all any more when they used to be quite bad before I started taking the pill. Its fantastic!! So don't worry at all, sounds like its working correctly.
I stop taking on Monday and it comes by Friday. I would recommend having a preg test every 3 months jus so then you know and can take action if anything...unexpected happends. Btw wow about the cum coming out thing never knew that, is rather clever!
I'm not sure that thing about the cum coming out is true...that'll happen whether you take the pill or not due to gravity!
oo thats a bit disappointing thought it was one of those medical marvels hehe

It certainly is true for me. It's pretty gross though
Well the pill does thicken the lining of the cervix so its harder for sperm to get through, so I guess maybe more cum would come out if you're on the pill, but it does happen whatever!

It's gravity really though, it'd still come back out if you had sex without a condom and not using the pill.
hehe what a funny topic for conversation the gravatational force on sperm

Seems totally normal to me. I don't normally bleed until my 3rd or 4th day of the break.

Out of interest, how many people on the pill take regular pregnancy tests while on the pill? I've heard a few people say it now, but it never crossed my mind...
My friend got pregneant and seeing ehr in school when she bought it in put fear in my heart (eeeekkk) so i started to do it

And she'd been on the pill? hmmm, has never ever crossed my mind before either about taking tests. does sound sensible tho...although also kinda defeats the object of being on the pill if you are taking it correctly

well no because its not 100%...
its just safety I am very paranoid about getting 'up the duff' i would be so unhappy with it so just being over cautious prob

Well yes, but its about at highly effective as you can get. They'd never say anything was 100% effective anyway.

Hmm I spose. I know it's not 100% but doing a test doesn't change anything, you're still either pregnant or not but you'd just find out sooner. Just I always tried to trust the pill, never considered paying for regular tests (since I doubt the doc would allow you to have them every 3 months for free).
I know this is obvious but remember being on the pill is not 100% effective and also does not protect from STD's. A friend of mine got pretty ill from an STD after having unprotected sex whilst on the pill; if you do really hate condoms, get yourself (and your partner) checked out for STD's before having sex.

Well I'd do a test if:

I'd taken a pill late
I was late in coming on
I knew that I might of messed up in taking it
Had an upset tummy

And stuff like that, but I wouldn't/don't on a normal/regular basis.

yeah, but people do still get pregnant whilst taking the pill, and taking it correctly.
