Reasons for large pupils?
A friend of mine just told me she was worried I might be taking antidepressant drugs or something similar because my pupils were so big. She said she had realised this before. I do not take anything like that but I doubt I managed to convince her. She thinks I´ve been lying to her and she said "the medical aspect argues against what you´re saying!"
I felt totally embarrassed and shocked. I´ve realised before that my pupils are sometimes quite big. Does anyone know what other (natural) reasons there could be or could it be a sign of some illness? Any info/advice is very much appreciated.

have you tried consulting your local gp ? perhaps look it up on wikipedia. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mydriasis do you have these symptoms ?
people just have different sized pupils. Ive seen lots of people who's pupils are ofton HUGE, in conditions when other's are not. We dont have to make a "disease" out of it. Tell your friend youre tripping
My pupils are always massive - i think my eyes just feel they need more light than most. It could be due to slight short-sightedness aka. Myopia
Rough guess. Maybe because it's dark perhaps?
My pupils are large a lot of the time as well. Im not quite sure why.

Scientifcally your friend is right in drugs causing the pupil to dialate however why he came to this conclusion well, But then again other drugs cause it to contract. Pupil size difers I would presume from one person to another and maybe your friend is just viewing you in dark spaces? Whatever it is she seems a bit paranoid about it.
ive got huuuuuuuuuge pupils all the time. Is it not jst genetic or summat??
some drugs can make them err bigger - i.e. propranolol for example, i've noticed this when i used to take them.

large pupils could mean different things
- it's dark so your eyes want to take in more light
- your eyes have trouble adjusting the size of your pupils with changes in light
- extensive alcohol consumption and drug abuse may also lead to a deterioration of natural sensors, so your pupils stay dilated
- some medicines have the side effect of dilating them, maybe because they temporarily paralyze the muscles or tendons that adjust their size
your friend is a bit paranoid it seems
sometimes it can just happen for random reasons or maybe it's just your pupils are larger than normal 
in any case, if you know ur not taking anything, u have nothing to worry about, its not like people will point at you going like OMG SHE HAS LARGE PUPILS!! RUUUN
Thank you very much for your replies . I´ve tried to do some research and it seems there are a lot of reasons (non-drug) for large pupils.
I´ve always been very sensitive towards light and it might be a genetic factor.
To Riddy: I do belong to the rather anxious type (it varies, I have my phases ), though I would never have thought it could affect the size of my pupils. So thank you for the advice.
Also I read a theory that your pupils widen when you talk to someone you really like? If my friend knew that....
