tattoos

i couldn't really think of the best place to put this so i thought this was the closest......
i got a tattoo about 3 months ago on my back and my mum just saw it....she didn't know. she asked if it was real and i said it was a transfer...then she gave me a big "that's quite nice but...i don't think you should get them, what looks good on a 20 yr old doesn't look good on a 90 year old, i just don't think they're a good idea and wouldn't be happy if you got one" i see her point but my thinking was...i won't be whipping my lower back out when i am 90! anyway..there's a story behidn the tattoo so it gives me good memories as well.
but my point is....anyone else had that happen?!it's like i'm on strike one now, she saw it and i said it was a transfer and now if she sees it again...i'm screwed. i have a 2 week sort of....okperiod because i said that's how long it lasts.
what now?!

she'll come around. i managed to hide mine for 3 years before I told her. She was very anti tatt (come to think of it so was I) but she thinks it is very me.

What you need to do is say you liked it so much you went and got it done permanently. and its your body blah blah and when you're 90 you'll have had skin tautening operations so it wont matter. :P
You can either come clean or stay zipped and hope she doesn't notice.

There's nothing wrong with getting one done, and as for it looking good when you're 90...I don't think many people would be interested one way or the other lol. If you did get to a stage where you hated it you can have it removed....you got it to remind you or a happy time or whatever so it's not like you have an exes name tattooed somewhere conspicuous  That would be funny tho...lol

yeh exact same thing happened to me!!!! Have a tattoo on my shoulder.... mum saw it and i said it was fake. That was four years ago and now whenever she sees it she says in a sarcastic voice "oh i see your tattoo hasn't faded yet tom"!! So yeh, think she kinda worked out that it was real.... eventually! There is nothing they can do about it... and they can't stay mad at you forever!
I would come clean. Having said that, I should take my own advice, lol.

I had my second tattoo done on my hip on Wednesday and my grandparents haven't found out... Yet... Mum didn't mind, I told her that I was going to have it done. But when I had my last tattoo done, my grandparents were very angry.

Even if your mum tells you off, it's permenant now so she can't do anything about it. Honesty is the best policy in the long run
tell her now - it will just get worse the longer you leave it!

i got my first one when my parents were on holiday - and then just blurted it out as soon as they walked in the front door. They dont like them much but at the end of the day its your body and it up to you to decide what you want to do with it!
My mum loves mine now i have them...angel wings on my left arse cheek (sounds tacky looks fab!) and a pantacle design on my left lower hip.
Oooh, whereabouts in Bedfordshire are you from? I'm from Dunstable :p:

My friend has got one done without her parents knowing...her mum would go ape. But I know her mum well and she wouldn't go mad because it's a tattoo, but because she wasn't told. The longer she leaves it, the more upset her mum will feel. But she won't tell her, just tells me she's getting more. Just asking for trouble if you ask me!

I would come clean and tell them. You might have a bit of a job hiding your back from your parents for the rest of your life! :rolleys:

At the end of the day tattoos should be for you and you alone. If you're getting them because you think it'll look good, then when you get older yes, you'll probably resent it.

Will I still love the Cure at 90? Well, maybe and maybe not. But I'll still appreciate the memories attached to my tattoo at that age, and if its faded and my arms aren't toned and wonderful anymore, well it wasn't just to show off anyway.

I had a lower back surface piercing. I managed to keep it hidden for months, but then my sister saw it and she told my dad who went crazy. But anyway, it's your body so do whatever you like (assuming you're over 18, and if you're not you shouldn't be getting a tattoo anyway)
