Fake ID Questions?

I am just contemplating on getting a fake ID to use in my local pub and at local shops. I dont want to go out binge drinking or whatever, just a couple of my mates get served in my local and go often and I want to join them in there but know I wont.. I am 16, nearly 17 so arent like a 12 year old piss head.. :/

Anyway..
I was wondering what are the consequences of getting caught with a fake ID?
Are they reliable and worthy of my money?
Any experiences you care to share?..

Not worth it, they hardly ever work. If you get caught with one they are just gunna take it off you.
Your best bet is to just wait until your 18 or borrow a friends/siblings ID for now.

Borrow an older mates. No point wasting money on fake ones. Usually the ones you buy over the internet are scams- I've researched it before when I wanted one, and it's risky business. Just wait until you're eighteen- don't grow up too soon.

Depends where you live and how picky the bouncers are. In London, you're not going to get in without a passport or driving license; considering you're in West Yorkshire, I'd imagine they'd care substantially less :tongue:

Especially if you go out in a predominantly studenty area, where everyone's going to be over 18 anyway.

(I got served in my local wearing school uniform once. Yorkshire is good for that sort of thing :colone:

They work in pubs during the night times best I find. And I can't see there being any consequences from that.

Depends. Some bars and pubs actually scan ID to check it's legit (had this happen to a friend), and when it bounced back as fake they confiscated it and told him to leave. You won't get anything other than a slap on the wrist for it though, unless you accidentally hand it to police if they ask to see some ID.

And there are no bouncers near me lol, juts friendly landlords that will most likely glance at it but still was wondering whether it was worth it

I have about 4 friends with them and 2 used it in in my local shop last week and theres was a £10 one but I need to know more! D:

Get a fake international students' ID and say your from New Zeeland :smile:

I had a fake ID when I was in England (at the age of 16) but I'm an actual foreigner so maybe it was easier for me to play the part...mine always worked reliably and I never got in any trouble for it.

When i was 17, in the later half of that year i just gave my ID as proof of age, because the year was 92 they just gave it back and served me. That worked every time and i done it quite a few times.

I'm not sure how they'd react if they saw, probably just give you it back and say "nice try, get out"

i know that (some) shops where i live if they catch you with fake id they get the police involved...is it really worth it?

If you go to the bar with fake ID they will know straight away and kick you out though. Seen it happen before to people younger than me.

They don't generally work, maybe in smaller towns or some pubs but it's a much better bet to borrow someone's real ID!

Generally nothing will be done about it although I know people who've had them taken off them by clubs so it's a bit of a waste of money (or just really embarrassing to have to ask for it back!)

There will be shops and pubs around you that serve underagers, ask around and find them.

Most fake ID's are rubbish, although there are places you can get very good ones with the proper holograms and UV stuff, but they cost upwards of £100

If you have been in these shops/pubs before they might realise you are under 18. And don't make stupid mistakes like a friend of mine. He used fake ID at the shop near to my old secondary school. Over time the cashiers realised that as well as going into the shop at night to buy alcohol, he was also going into the shop in the day time to buy sweets, in his school uniform.....

16, well....you're still too young to be drinking. There are laws there for a reason, they aren't just put in place to be awkward.

It is illegal to purchase alcohol/cigarettes/age restricted product with fake ID, you can be prosecuted and potentially jailed (along with a very hefty fine as well!) for using fake ID. I know that a lot of people under age use fake ID but they are very naive.

A driver's license would be easier to fake than a passport :holmes:

As others said, borrow someone's real I.D such as brothers/sisters or someone that looks reasonably similar. My mate used one of my friends I.D's the other day, one has black hair, one's blond... A lot of the time they really just don't care.

Just so you know, hair colour/style has nothing to do with whether they'll accept it. My driving license and passport both have pictures of me when my hair was darker and about two inches long, now its well past my shoulders and blonde. They still accept it because I look like the same person! So yeah, don't assume hair colour has anything to do with it - your face shape and stuff has to match if you want to use someone else's.
