osmosis variables

hey can anyone help me by answering the following question: ( i am doing the osmosis experiment on potato cells in different molarities of sugar solution to see how the mass of the chip changes)...

list the other factors which you will keep THE SAME to make it a fair test, and the effect these variables would have if they are NOT kep constant

thankyou

ive come up with a few like temperature etc but cannot explian what they may do to not make it fair!

temperature must be kept constant because it affects the rate at which the water molecules are moving around so would change the rate of osmosis.
same size piece of potato used in each solution so that results can be compared
same type of potato- some types may have slightly different partially permeable membranes in their cells which could also affect osmosis.
if you are measuring the mass afterwards you will need a method of drying off the excess solution from around the piece of potato that is the same in all cases so this excess solution doesnt affect the final mass as it hasnt been absorbed by the potato
