Only 9 and a half? I was a fair few more than that when I was 15 (and 5 foot 5 tall). I managed to lose about 3 stone by following a strict diet regime and doing as much aerobic exercise as possible. That meant all the things I used to enjoy such as ice cream and crisps and fried food and I strictly controlled my calories. Was very hard to stick to at first, but once I got into the stride of it it was plain sailing! I'm also strict veg and we're not allowed egg or fish or anything in our house. It doesn't help, but it's still not impossible

 9.5 and 5"5 ?? I don't think you're overweight...that's just my opinion but I'm exactly the same as you...true I'm 17 but we all have different bodies...do you think you're overweight? You shouldn't start seriously dieting while you're still this young, your body probably hasn't finished growing yet!

Are you sure you need to lose weight? 9 and a half stone is around 130 lbs, that's not above average is it!?

Turn on channel 4 now, its a good incentive if you want to lose weight!

You don't sound overweight at all, but i'm not a doctor  Just have a balacned diet, everything in moderation, and do regular exercise, even if its just walking.

I'd go to a different doctor, because the reason you're feeling tired is never because you're carrying "excess weight" around.

Not to do with being overweight but your doctor is a bit mad. Get a new one! My mum's old doctor said she was pregnant when she didn't have her period but she is sterilised and hadn't had sex! He still said it was possible... so all I'm saying is your doctor is mad really!

You do not need to loose any weight. You need to change doctors pronto!

Sit around the house... watch TV and surf the Net.

Ok, losing weight is really just common sense. Don't eat too much high calorie foods- pizza, takeaway, chips, chocolate etc, eat fresh cooked vegetables, fruit, pulses, rice, pasta etc, instead. Some veggies tend to get most of their protein from cheese and eggs- these are high in fat, so if you're doing that switch to more lentils & beans instead. And do some regular aerobic exercise like jogging or swimming.

But to reiterate what everyone else has said- you ARE NOT OVERWEIGHT! Your BMI is well within the normal range, you're not even borderline. I don't know what your doctor is on. Even if you happen to have an exceptionally small frame, and are carrying a little bit of excess fat, it's certainly not to the extent that it should make you tired. Lots of veggies become anaemic due to lack of iron from meat etc- have you been tested for that??

Go on a cutting diet, do something that scares you everyday, live to your hearts content ;P, to be honest you're not exactly clinically or morbidly obese, so shedding a lot of weight isnt anything to be worried about, just be sensible, thats it really, you know the rest.

I dont think youre overweight either. love handles are hard to get rid of! sit-ups will help to tone up your stomach, but ive been told that they are bad for your back, and your supposed to crunches instead, which are horrible! if you just want to loose a few pounds, then try cutting out chocolate, takeaways, chips etc. eat lots of fruit and veg. you need the nutrients that you get in fish, but as you dont eat fish try and find an alternative to it, im not sure what this would be though.

Try going vegan, it's much healthier (if you research it and balance your diet and don't eat junk!) and you are not taking in loads of fat in milk and cheese.
My boyfriend was overweight when i met him, he was about 5"11 and weighed 16 stone, that was about a year and a half ago.
When he went vegan he lost weight. One of the best things he did for getting healthy and losing weight was going to the gym. we used to go twice a week (more if we could manage). And Cutting out junk food was brilliant. Weused to eat lots of chocolate and cakes and stuff.
He now weighs 13 stone and you can seriusly see the difference, he is so much healthier!

You weight depends on your height, I've been told by doctors that normal weight (kg) is height (cm) minus a 100.

5.5 feet = 167.64 centimeter,

167.64 - 100 = 67.64 kg

67.64 kg = 10.65 stones...

You are not overweight
Your BMI (according to http://nhlbisupport.com/bmi/) is 22.1; anything between 18 and 25 is normal!
