same here. i had AABC. but my GCSEs were very bad (3Cs in english, literature and geography).

but my PS and other activities were good and i did 7 weeks of WE in 6 different types of dentistry.

hey all. I'm doing GCSE at the moment. What you guys take at A-level? I want to do Dentistry at university. I'm definitely doing Chem+Bio, but also Geography and History of Art. I should get mainly A-A*s in my GCSEs. How are my chances looking? Is there fierce competition for place in dentistry? Help!

Louise there is incredibly fierce competition, most people applying have straight A*s/A's. It's the same for medicine.

well, u will need atleast the minimum requirements for GCSEs and A levels. you also need to have others things like Work experience "and all", as the expression goes.

u also have to be lucky, some ppl with 4As dont get in!!!

for me, if it wasnt for my variety if WE, then i wouldnt have got in, i only have 1 offer, but thats all i need.

it sounds like you studies are going well and if it keeps going well if definately have a good shot at getting in.
i did chem bio hist and IT and got 4 A's
but its not all studies because i know people with all A's and have been rejected soo make sure you also have extra cirricular stuff and work experience in diff fields.
If you really want to do dentistry don't give up even if there is immense competition

Qm told me that the reason why i got rejected was because i scored a low grade on work experinece in the field (of dentistry). my PS was medicine focused! and i was using dentistry as a backup! not a good idea at all!
