Cyst...ouch :(

Ok, so i've been to the doctor for this before and he said it was a cyst. It looked a bit like a yellow pimple on my sac (i'm talking about downstairs here :frown:) Over the summer it got smaller and i wasn't "too" bothered about it. It started getting bigger over the last week. I had some stuff for my face as i was prescribed it by a dermatologist and thought i'd give it a go (Isotrexin).

It burnt a bit at first, the next day it burnt more. I couldn't put it on the next day it hurt so much. It's now turned redder and it hurts to the touch, it's really sore and when i walk it also hurts at himtes. It hurts so much i've even put a plaster on to stop rubbing but i know it won't stay for long.

So the question is what should i do? I'm seriously tempted to put a needle to it, but i obviously don't want nasty stuff such as infections/scarring. I can either leave it for a few more days (it's been 2 days painful so far) or i could visit the GP but they're not going to be able to do much. If i wanted it removed it requires scalpels i was told.

Thanks for reading so far if you're here now, i know it was daft to put isotrexin on but i didn't think it'd have that effect.

I think it's definitely worth having the GP look at it and possibly lance it. If he does lance it you won't even feel it - the scalpel will be too sharp to be felt properly, the pressure will go instantly and it should heal quickly.

I have an epididymal cyst; underneath, on my epididymis, but not the skin.

I was told cysts had to be cut out so it didn't grow back, i really don't fancy needles in that area understandably. I have one on the other side too but it's not at that stage yet, it's just a raised white looking dot. I might go tomorrow and make an appointment.

I think it'd be better in the long run to have it removed as it'll probably periodically get bigger and irritated. Perhaps you could try 'Lanacane' until you can get to the doctors - although it won't do anything about the cyst it would numb it a little bit so it's not as annoying when you walk. You can get it from boots near the stuff for allergies - it's apparently safe to use on the vagina so it's probably alright for proper skin, as long as it doesn't actually get inside through any abrasions on the cyst (will probably burn til it does it's job.)

So would a GP actually lance it or would it have to be done by a nurse. I think i'll go and book an appointment tomorrow. I just hate having to get my genitals out to people. Not looking forward to needles there either, but it's better than doing it myself. If it was lanced any chance it'll come back, i know the stuff inside will disappear, but would it just heal that one wouldn't be able to tell?

Ok, update time. I went to check under the plaster today and noticed a little blood on the plaster. I went to make an appointment at the GP but friday was the earliest they had, although i could make an emergency clinic if i went before 10. Got home and took the plaster - that really hurt. If you're slightly squeamish stop here...

I touched it and a bit of blood/puss came out, so i don't know if it was a great idea - but it was a bit like a spot and squeezed gently a bit more and more blood/puss came out. It's gone down a lot and it doesn't hurt. It's still there at the moment nowhere near as big - but still a bit raised and maybe some fluid in. Think i'll just leave it for now and see what happens - i don't want to get it infected/scarred. There you have my story.
