Noisy Flatmates! Grrr :(

My flatmates went out tonight. They came in about 2:30 its nearly 3:30 and theyre still awake being noisy. Its doing my head in, I need to sleep. I live in a ruddy young offenders instititute aka Exchange Works :frown:

Gonna have to see if I can sleep at my gf's tomorrow/tonight to catch up on sleep, im deprived and its messing with my head. I have a lot on my plate and need some sleep to help with that. Anyone else relate or give advice?

Don't stress about it - that's probably what's doing your head in more than their actual behaviour.

Yeah, just grab sleep when you can and all that. It's only til summer then presumably you can make whatever other arrangements you like.

you should talk with them about it. if it's getting you this stressed then it's worth it. try to broach the subject gently and show that you're not being unreasonable. perhaps if you all discuss it you could come up with some 'house rules' where on week nights people will be quiet after midnight or something similar. you can only try. perhaps they don't even know they're disturbing you.
if you ever need to chat, just pm me. xxx

i can relate completely - last year in halls i had the neighbour from hell! Her and her friends used to use her room as a 2nd common room usually at 2am and would insist on slamming the door every 5s as well as smoking the whole time (the walls were so thin i used to end up passively smoking most of the time!) Eventually it got so bad during my professional exam period that i would go and wake the warden up at 2am to get her to shut up and used to have a key to another room so that i could move in the middle of the night if i needed to! I remember how frustrating it was all the time as i was just getting no sleep at all - something i require surprisingly enough! guess a quiet word is in order with your flatmates although if that doesnt work you may need to resort to different tactics!!! (i often found that loud music at 7am was a pretty good revenge when thye hadnt gone quiet until 5.30am!!)

I told my flatmate she was really annoying me - literally, things were falling off my shelves she slammed her door so hard. It changed for a while, but it's just as bad as it was now :frown: Can't wait till July when I move out!

Whenever anyone is overly noisy back at my halls during the night.. i just be sure to make as much noise as i can outside their door when i get up at 7:30am the next morning..

Revenge is sweet.

It was 3.30am, I was naked and didnt feel like getting dressed. They go out every night of the week nearly and if its not them someone else in another flat is being noisy. Its mad here, a right **** hole. But you'd never know that looking at the £3300 rent.

I suggest locking them out next time :p:
That'll teach them :yy:

Why did you feel the need to drop the rent in there

tell the warden then.

Because its a lot to pay for living in a young offender's institute, not that I can afford, I'm just a poor boy, from a poor family. :P

I'll talk to ze manager.
