Two packs of pills

My boyfriend has planned to take me to a swanky restuarant for Valentine's Day but the problem is that I stop taking my pill on the Saturday before Valentine's so my period will certainly be there on the day. I was thinking of running two packs together as my period will be an inconvience but I've been on the pill for over 4 years now and have never ran two packs together so I don't really have a clue whether I will spot or not if I did this

Has anyone here ever ran two packs of pills together and if so, did your period actually stay away until your break or did you experience a lot of spotting?

Thanks a lot

I did this for the first time for a uni interview in December. I was concerned that I would still get spotting, but none at all, for me. period came exactly when planned when I finished the second pack. It wasn't even any heavier, which I was worried it might be!
I'm on microgynon 30, btw.
Yeah, it's okay to do as long as it's not too often as far as I know

Why is the restaurant skanky??

It should be fine - and if you do get spotting, it'll be later on in the pack rather than that early.

Yeah, my GP told me running up to 3 packs together is completely fine (I'm on microgynon 30)

I'm also on microgynon 30 and have never got any spotting when I do that, it works fine. I don't run more than 2 packs together though.

I used to work in a pharmacy and there's no problem with running two pacs of pills together...it doesn't cause any problems. You can run up to three packs without any problems.

Well, some people do get spotting (I did last month, and that was only on two packs together), but as I said, it won't be that early in the pack, and probably won't happen at all.

its totally ok and safe. you probably will not have a problem with spotting etc. however at the end of the 2 months i had the period from HELL and it HURT.
my doc says do not run more than 2 packs together or you will have spotting and inter perod bleeding

btw i was taking the pill for hormonal reasons not contraceptive ones

I only get spotting at the very end of a 3rd consecutive pack. Usually I take a break after two packs though. My doctor doesn't approve of it. =/
yeh iv does this before, no spotting at all!! ur allowed to do this only twice a year but its fine jus the once xx

I've done it a couple of times. The first time I did get a bit of spotting, but I think that may have been cos I wasn't taking the pill at the same time everyday (but still within the 12hrs).The 2nd time I did it I made sure to take the pill at exactly the same time every day and it was fine, no spotting at all. Also I think my period was slightly heavier than normal after the 2nd pack, but otherwise all seemed fine.
I always run three packs together (on Marvelon) and have done for well over a year now. Never had any problems, and it means I only get four periods a year, with minimal pain and pms

I would like to add (and I've not read through the thread every word, so my appologies if it has been said already) that the pill was originally designed to prevent periods altogether until the woman wanted to try and get pregnant - only many women found it really odd not having them, so they instigated a break.

If you're concerned about spotting, wearing a pantyliner is probably your best bet. Can't hurt to be on the safe side.

I got monster PMS when I ran two packs together! It's different for every woman though.

Thats not true.. You can take two packs or even three together when you really need to.. Your not just limited to twice a year.
