BBC beats ITV by a fine mile
BBC screens the better films and a wide variety of them
BBC has the best news service and their website is one of the best out there
BBC soaps are very popular with the nation
BBC entertainment is great - Have I Got News For You, They think its all over etc
BBC shows the classic sitcoms - Only fools and horses, Steptoe and Son etc etc
BBC sports coverage is superb - snooker, tennis and the occasional football matches
BBC documentary's are very interesting and well produced
BBC has no commerical breaks
BBC is value for money
also...........THERE IS NOTHING CHEESY ABOUT THE BBC!!!

I agree on the whole. Although they gave up 24 the BBC do a good job. Channel 4 are very good though I think.

For some reason I have huge respect for the BBC. Their output is usualy of high quality and their website is a good resource.

I wouldn't say one is better than the other. I mean they have completly different stuff showing. I maybe watch a bit more of BBC than ITV, but yeh, terrestrial tv is quite boring...

i think the bbc is pretty fantastic...cant believe the clip of that john gibson dude on fox news....im all in favour of the bbc....particularly against itv.

BBC is not worth the money for the TV license. I don't know what they waste their money on.
its only just over 100pounds a year, though I dont think they should be charging students for a TV licence in their halls of residence
