IOT Kit List
CLOTHING
MALE
Raincoat or waterproof jacket
Dark, conventional-style lounge suit Evening wear and for some functions in the Mess.
Blazer/Sports jacket Dark blue or black blazer.
Collared shirts Minimum of 3.
Ties Miniumum of 2, conservative style.
Slacks Cotton, in the style of chinos to go with the blazer.
Casual Clothing For wear when off duty. Any form of casual clothing is acceptable in your own room.
Scruff clothes For use during cleaning of equipment. Old track suit bottoms or jeans.
Sports clothing, dark coloured swimmingtrunks and equipment for personal use Cadets intending to play tennis, squash, badmington, golf etc, are advised to bring their own raquets or clubs.
Ronhills and long sleeve top Dark colour. For use in cold weather under PT kit.
Shoes Black leather lace up shoes.
Running trainers Invest in a good pair.

SELVYT cleaning cloth/cotton wool For bulling shoes. Available from the Spar shop at RAF Cranwell.

Like the avatar by the way, very fitting.
I tried on a pair of ronhills at the weekend, and I looked like a cross between Wainetta Slob and a pair of golf clubs
It appears that I will have to settle for chapped legs 
I was also told about a roll of sticky back plastic to cover your ID as it is only card, and if you get it wet then you are buggered.
In fact I'm pretty much ripping my home apart and taking it in my car, my "just in case" list is getting alarmingly long
Finished work today though, so that is a weight off, (they accepted my 8 days notice with good grace I feel
)

Oh yeah, thats what we were suppose to go the guard room for then! instead we just sat around. You seem to do a lot of that in the RAF!

lol i dunno, but i bought a whole load of stuff from there. There good. Also better to have it before you go down!

yeh mine came to £98. lol. I bought the headlamp. There is only one that has the red filter, and thats the dearest one! better to have most things on the kit list, rather than relying on wether someone else has them or not!

i got the small right angled one, Its a bit cheap feeling, but the lights good enough for all you will use it for.

Out of interest, what field work will you be doing?
I'd definitely add to your list:
Zinc oxide tape.
Baby wipes for getting rid of cam cream.
Lots of green string/para cord.
Twisters aren't that essential because you have the tie cords on the bottom of CS95s.
Black nasty.
Nail clippers.
Tent pegs.
Try and steal as much brillo and flanelette (sp) as possible and double check your cleaning kit when you sign it out to make sure it's all there and you have a full oil bottle (some guys replace the issue oil bottle with a small soap dispenser kind of thing due to the fact the issue one has a habit of cracking)
Double waterproof everything that goes in your bergen/daysacks, the ortlieb bags are good kit.
Don't bother taking your KFS out in the field, just your spoon.
Pack your bergen from bottom up in order of what order you will use your kit. i.e. at the bottom put your spare 95 trousers and at the top your waterproofs.
Really care for your feet as without them you aren't going anywhere.
Make sure everything fits, including skid lid, webbing, bergan and day sacks. Balck nasty all loose straps up to stop them getting tangled.
Take plastic bags to carry all your rubbish in.
This is just the stuff I can think of off the top of my head but if you give me an idea of what stuff you will be up to then you may need to add or lose some kit.

yeah you get issued one pair on your FAM. The way the F/S was talking, you can only wear the pair of boots you are given, and thats it!.
