I have a major crush on my history teacher, he is 50 years old and a catholic-he is so mature and sensitive, not like the other boys. I try to see him whenever I can. My hanging outside his office by the radiator has earned me the nickname 'radiator girl'. This upsets me, they are so mean. What do you guys think?

I think you're pretty fortunate they chose radiator girl, because I can think of a million worse names they could use.

Think about it this way - he is your teacher, unless he is extremely unprofessional, wants to destroy his career and is a bit of a weirdo, there is no chance he could ever return your affection. Plus he is old enough to be your dad / grandad, and is more than likely to be married with kids of his own.

It sounds harsh I know, but it's pointless wasting your time on him. It's alright to have a crush on him (e.g everything happening harmlessly in your head) but hanging around outside waiting for him is a waste of time... just respect him for who he is and don't expect anything more.

Not as bad as me, being in the last year at school and having a 22 year old EXTREMELY hot Trainee Geography Teacher.

I have an extremely bad 'crush' on him, only it's annoying as in 6 months when I've left, it could be. But he'll be gone in 6 months, so frustrating. My ex boyfriend was 21, my brother is 22...So not that old! As he is actually rather lovely. Equally, we could have a Becca/Justin Situation!

50 year old history teacher? That's rank. Mine's 50, he's a tit. Get over it, find someone who wouldn't lose his job.

I had a huge crush on my English teacher when I was at school, and he too was about 50. For all those people who say 'how can you have a crush on someone that old', believe me, it doesn't really enter your head when you fall for them. Just hang in there girl. If you play your cards right you'll probably still be able to keep in touch with him when you leave school.

Why? It happened to me. I'm still in touch with this bloke and we're still friends today.

It might seem hard at the beggining but you do need to get over him because
a) he's old enough to be your dad (if not grandad)
b) its unprofessional of both of you if you did get involved (highly unlikely but anyway!)
c) he's probably married with kids and so chances of you "drawing him" from his wife, are incredibly low.

Sounds harsh, fair enough, but in time you will get over it even though it seems currently impossible..
Even if you do keep in touch with him when you leave school, chances of a relationship other than ex-pupil - teacher developing, are quite remote, if not impossible. Yeah you can be "friends" but realistically now, i dont think he would consider going into a serious relationship with you (nothing personal of course but its his job to keep a distance and its not professional..)
Good luck

So the only reason you have a crush on him is that he is mature and sensitive?

Find someone your own age like that

I mean 50.. He'll probably have kids as old as you. There is no chance.

If he even showed signs of liking you then he should be avioded even more. There was a 50 year old teacher at my school, who turn out to have 15,000 child p**n images on his computer and is now in prison. Be careful...

There are no laws but its unprofessional. I think it is a sackable offence if the teacher sees the person while they are still their student but once they left school I don't think there is anything wrong with it.

Especialy at college and university the age difference could be very little, its not uncommon for students to be older than the teachers.

this thread is rubbish. why not search for similar problems like your own by using the handy search function pig installed.

hell everyone gets a crush on a teacher, just not everyone is fortunate enough to be called radiator girl

If the pupil is under 16 it's child abuse.
If the pupil is 16-18 it is still child abuse but the sentence wouldn't be quite so severe due to them being over the age of consent.
If it's a pupil aged 18/19 in the school you teach in, it's misconduct rather than abuse.
If it's a pupil from another school aged 18/19, there are no laws and both parties can do as they wish. If one or both parties are married then of course it is adultery. But you knew that.

Supposedly a music teacher at my school got fired because he was texting a girl in year 10..so this supprot what AT said in his post, but no there are no laws and its not paedophilia either considering peadophiles go for prepubescent children, but if he had an interest in you he could be seen as a pervert.

In my opinion it wouldnt be very nice if something happened, but hey, things like that DO happen
