I don't particularly like or dislike Green Day, to be honest I can't see them being around for much longer. There are only so many 3-chord songs you can write before people start to get very bored... it's getting to the point where all of their songs merge into one, and I think if they are to have any future they'll have to try something daringly different. Personally I don't think that will happen.
I love the idea of this thread. Means that if you have one thing to say, you don't have to start a whole new thread, but also means you don't have to hijack someone else's without their permission. I'm proud of you, jeff2233.
Regarding the earlier posts... I like Green Day and Oasis but I don't think either of them are anywhere near as good as they used to be, and so I don't understand why they're now more popular than ever.

Not sure Oasis are more popular than at the height of Britpop, but still, I know what you mean. DBTT was better than the last few albums but that doesn't make it particularly good.
They probably are, because they'll have the majority of their fans from the 90s, plus the younger ones who like their new stuff. And yeah, agree with that last part.

Ahhh stop it, I'm blushing
About Oasis - I remember in the Britpop days, they were absolutely huge. I can't bear them anymore and didn't really like them back then, but even I had a guitar songbook and learnt a few of their tunes. I think that a lot of the people who were obsessed with them back then have gradually lost interest for various reasons, and other than the hardcore fans who have stuck by them all the way, I'd say they're now having to win over a new generation of fans.
