I don't think you can actually get rid of them (unless you have some sort of laser surgery maybe...) but you can fade them a bit if you use something like cocoa butter. Palmers do a good one. You have to put it on about twice a day though and probably won't see results for quite while. I gave up on the idea after a couple of days, too much effort! I don't think other people notice them that much anyway to be honest.

Yup, I've heard that you can put stuff on it (can't precisely remember what though... coconut oil or something) but it does fade over time.

thats right
When in the shower get a body scrub (the ones with bits in) and scrub in circular motions. Apparently this boosts circulation to the area, but the scrub will also moisturise and help to smooth the skin, reducing the appearance of stretch marks.

Bio oil apparently is v good. but really, why worry? Everyone gets them. See my comments on cellulite :

they do fade over time - i used to have big nasty purple ones on my boobs but now they are just faint silvery lines that you can hardly notice. Think it took about 2 years but I didnt do anything to them at all

Stretch marks do fade after a while, especially with the help of cocoa butter. stertch marks are like scas, you cant get rid of them, but after a while they become unnoticable, so no worries!
Bio oil isn't bad, makes them fade a little. I've never really had them that badly, but I had horrible shingles scars. Some kind soul on here recommended bio oil (can't remember who, sorry, but it was very helpful, so thank you!) and it needs repeated application, but it seems to be reasonably affective on scars and marks of all chapes and sizes!

Also, just plain old normal moisturizer is better than nothing. Generally keeping the skin in good condition and being healthy (just normal nothing extreme) will make them less visible.

OMG actually I've lost a stone and a half recently and I have definately obtained more stretch marks-Arrrrrgh! Still, being thin with lotsa stretch marks is better than being plump and not having so many.
