GCSE History: Source Questions

I have to answer 2 source questions on Gallipoli. Obviously, I can't ask for direct help because you need the sources to answer the questions... but I'd just like to ask for some advice on structuring the answers etc.

First questions is a utility question, about 3 sources regarding ANZAC soldiers. Should I look at each source in turn, and then come to a conclusion about how they are overall useful? Come to that, how do you answer utility questions? Reliability questios are always about facts matching the source, the attribution etc, but what makes a source useful?

Next question I'm having more (yes, even more) trouble about. One Source suggests that 'poor planning' was responsible for the failure at Gallipoli. The question is: is there sufficient evidence in the other sources to support this interpretation? How could I go about structuring this one? Look at each sources in turn, then say at the end that it was responsible to an extent but there were other causes too? But looking at the causes offered in the other sources, they all do seem to come under a blanket heading of 'bad planning'... ugh...

Sorry this is lengthy; I have a tendency to ramble on! Even if you didn't study Gallipoli, any pointers on source questions would be much appreciated!

when i did GCSE history i was told you should always mention where the source comes from,eg date/time period and who wrote it and if they are a primary or secondary source

Always remember the following when using sources:

Who
What
Where
When
Why

Also, I recommend PEEing all over your work! Not literally of course!

Point
Example
Explanation

Hope thats useful
