Just out of interest, what does the AH Latin course involve and is it hard (as in mentally demanding)?

Hmm...
not really too bad.

A lot depends on the teaching methods of your school.
We've spent loads of time on the set texts: "Ovid+Latin Love poetry".
However, only recently has our teacher started going over unseens properly. This has helped a lot, because I think you can pick up some good marks here even on natural ability.

Then there's the dissertation... basically "Abandon hope, all ye who enter". Nah, it's alright as well to be honest.

What is an advanced higher?

The qualification of a pupil in Scotland in their upper 6th roughly, having sat a higher which = AS:

Standard grades = GcSes
Highers = AS
Ad. Highers = A2

Bit silly really.
