I am a chocolate skinned black girl (gabrielle union), and most times I am reminded that I am the 'exception' (made to feel) 'pretty for a black girl' 'pretty for a dark skinned girl'.
This isn't complaining thread, I just wanted to know your experiences as a darker skinned black girl. Maybe share a few tips, what colours work well on our unique complexion
I always think that people with darker skin look absolutley amazing in really bright, even neon colours ! oranges, yellows, cerise pink - I'm always jealous in summer when I see people majorly pulling them off whilst knowing I would look like a highlighter pen ! (being pretty pale)
The only really black girl I know, happens to be the prettiest woman I have met in person in my life. She is the girlfriend of a guy at work who is Nigerian so I assume she to is Nigerian. She is dark as the night, high cheek bones, stunning smile and eyes that sparkle.I wish I had a picture, Everytime we have a work night out I just stare in awe.
i so get u... i always use to get this'your really pretty for a dark skinned girl' its like WT*!!>>But im used to it now

Lol, we can get away with so many colours! It is so amazing! Its a tad sad how sometimes our own race doesn't appericate our colour shade but every other race loves it! We usually have magnificent clear skin lol!

Being 'pale' is amazing too! You can pull of any kind of smoky eye, deep blusher and wonderful nude--deep read lips!!!

I have a black friend who wears every colour in the rainbow haha - she looks absolutely amazing in green and yellow/gold. Tbh i think black people can pull off almost any colour , especially bright colours.

Whoever said your an exception to being dark skinned and beautiful needs to open their eyes, there are no exceptions to certain races being pretty! Some people are naturally pretier than others, race has nothing to so with that! All races are beauiful in their own way! enjoy and embrace your features, regardless of race

Ok its hard not to but I'll let it slide.
It was a compliment, but I guess you guys really like to take things to another level ? Why do you say it's hard not to?
