i'm seeing alot of modern languages ppl here... i've applied for French and beginners Russian at st chads and have heard absolutely NOWT 2 ! my application went out th 13th of Oct! I'm beginning to think that Durham's track website is stuck permanently on "IN DEPARTMENT"

Don't worry, you are not alone! I'm still waiting too, they received my application on Oct 11th and i'm still on department. LOADS of people still waiting applied in October...bloody odd if you ask me! ^o)

I wonder who will be last to move off department:eek: Shall we make a poll so people can guess? A bit of fun or just something more to clutter the room up?

Right...it's the only way to go i guess!
this is annoying. i have an offer from St andrews and i have to admit i'm leaning to that just because Durham are taking sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo long.
what is it with Modern langs????humm??? glad i'm not the only 1 tho!!

i came real close to ringing admissions today. i jotted down what i was going to say (cos i didn't want to forget and look stupid) and then decided against it. I still haven't entered for my june exams yet because i'm waiting to find out whether durham want me or not. if they do it will be physics and further maths exams - if not it will just be physics. I don't want to presume because money is involved and the extra hassle of withdrawing, getting refunds, administration fees bla bla. i said i would give them to the end of the week before i ring so i will stick by that and will wait to see what tomorrow brings.:frown:

It's about £10/exam, that's not an amazing amount...

:hugs: to the thread.

Durham are notorious for taking ages. I didn't hear til May last year and that was a rejection. But I'm sure that's not a helpful remark, my apologies. But yeah, they can take ages. I'd ring up and pester them senseless. That's what I did this year.

And ryan - LOL I do that too - writing down what you're gonna say before you ring up! because I'm terrible on phones. And just generally inept. Also, don't mean to sound simple, but don't you want to do your exams regardless of what unis say? Surely if you've studied for the subject you want to get your qualification, just for your own satisfaction??

Well i've only studied for like hardly any of the further maths:eek: So if i get an offer i will have to study day and night. i know i can do it because i learned the whole of p5 last year in about 2 weeks - i still got an A overall. I'm completely in a bad place right now - i just need to know.

i won't do the further maths if i get rejected from durham because i'm only required to get one A for warwick. I will definitely ring them up tomorrow.

You haven't got a letter? i got one telling me when i should have a decision by - which for physics is the end of march. Is that the sort of letter you are referring to?
No letter since they sent me confimation that they received my application. Similar position to you cos if i get AAA offer will need to do a retake in june.
Which college did you apply to?
ryan, did you ring up durham eventually, to see what the state of play is with your application?
