Understanding boys

ive been hanging out with this guy for ages. we spend so much time together that people at our school - boarding school, were seniors - all think we're dating. the time we spend together is kinda close like we watch tv and he'll sit with his arm around me and i have my head on his shoulder and stuff. theres been times when i thought he was going to kiss me and he doesnt. i kissed him on the cheek goodbye the other day in the attempt to give the message that i like him (hes shy, im shy, its sooo ridiculous) and i dont get it. are guys normally like this? will he get the message or not? if i try anything more obvious ill be blushing like crazy and i kinda dont want to get too obvious because if he doesnt actually like me... then im scrwed basically.

Yeah of course its normal. not all guys are all outgoing and that.
Problem is here is your both shy, therefore if he likes you hes 2 shy to do something, and your 2 shy to do something aswell.
Basically nothings happening so one of you has to take a risk,,

I think you've answered your own question; he probably feels the same way. Maybe you're just that bit braver, or that bit less shy, and hence, you're the one who's been that bit more forward. It sounds as though he likes you. You should probably just go for it, if you like him that much; I don't know him, but I'm sure he'd be OK with it, even if he didn't like you 'like that'. Perhaps a moment of bravery on your part could lead to years of happiness.

Just go for it!

someone has to be brave - it seems you're both waiting for the other, and, as it is generally acknowledged that boys have a tendency towards uselessness (:p: ) why not make it you? Good luck!

I'm going to let you girls in on a little secret.

Guys never know when a girl likes him, even if it is blindly obvious.

Its to do with our brains, they can never except that a girl likes him for who he is. So therefore, he will always assume that any hugging, kissing on the cheek, things like that are a part of their friendship. He most likely won't do anything because he doesn't want to ruin that friendship by confessing his feelings for you.

Do you understand know?

^^So, what dude is saying is that you should walk in naked with beer and a sign that says "I like you - lets get it on!!!"

I think, you need to oh so slowly, just hold his hand when you're watching telly. Then, when he is ok with that, a week later snuggle in a bit more. And perhaps, you could always use the tried and tested patented
Segat1 MoveTM beckon him over with your finger, when he gets close enought to say what, then keep beckoning, and keep on doing it until he is so close he can't fail to see what is going on and you kisssssssssssssssssssssssssss. So cool. :yy: :yy:

seems pretty clearish to me.... maybe a sign not disimilar to those "golf sales" ones, with the message of "get it here" ? wouldnt hurt.

advice: Im not too sure how old u guys are but i do assume you have parties whether at boarding school or outside. This is the perfect opportunity to do something about your liking of each other. Flirt like mad with him whilst danicng + try and pick up on his reactionsto this, then, settle down with him and whilst the music is still blasting just give him a slight peck on the lips.

Now, this can go one of two ways. Either he'll respond and you two will get together or he won't.

Should the latter occur, just apologise and say you got carried away with the heat of the moment, or blame the alcohol. He will most definitely accept the apology and despite a cupple of miutes of embarrasment, you will know where you stand.

Capiche?

slightproblem the school is no-alcohol at all and as a boarder there are no situations like that. no parties nothing. plus hes shy and not likely to do much we tend to watch tv and talk and thats it

Yup, that's pretty much the secret that governs everything we do and how we act. We're oblivious, no matter what you do.

Now you know, use it well!
It sounds like he likes you. Ask him if he wants to do something other than TV perhaps? A coffee or a movie or something? Dress up nice for him, and either explain, or if you can build up enough courage, a kiss or something should do the trick.

...and the rest

This kind of thing keeps me awake at night, 'Does she like me, or is she just being friendly'. It's a kind of 'I think you're very pretty, so you're obviously too good for me', kind of thing. (for me anyway :frown: )
