Unhealthy diet

I eat so much junk food it is ridiculous..I've put on weight and I think my diet is the reason. How do I eat more healthily..I just seem tempted by all the food that isn't any good for me? I am quite a fussy eater which is part of the problem, but what foods are good to eat? What kind of things could I eat for different meals of the day? :frown: :confused:

Whenevr you feel like snacking just opt for fruit instead and try not to have any unnecessary sugars for a while such as chocolates, biscuits etc, get your sugar from fruit... a little exercise in between will do you good aswell...i recommend jogging :biggrin:

I might have to consider it!

I want to make up a sort of daily thing of what I am going to eat etc.

I rarely eat breakfast..maybe I should have a yoghurt or some fruit or something..

I'm just as bad as you. All I ate yesterday was a penguin bar and a packet of crips..but I blame the fact that I can't actually get up and go to the kitchen. I always end up buying fruit and yoghurt and stuff and then never eating it and having to throw it out.
Better to eat something for breakfast,yoghurt or fruit would be good. When do you usually eat junk food, for lunch? If so why not have a sandwich instead.

As for dinner you can eat anything you want. It seems odd that a fussy eater would eat such cr-ap as junk food.

Yeah, I quite often do that. I also eat rubbish when I am bored and working which is a lot! I have put on so much weight and it is really making me feel crap:frown:

I just am addicted to chips and burgers and rubbish that does me no good whatsoever.

I am a lazy idiot I think. I eat junk food all the time. I don't eat breakfast, have crisps for lunch and chips or whatever in the evening. I am always snacking on chocolate and crisps in between meals as well.

I'll throw a few ideas at you:

hot pasta, pesto sauce, grated cheese, side salad
jacket potato plus whatever takes your fancy
beans on toast
celery and peanut butter
porridge, golden syrup with raisins or dates chucked in
Green and Black's chocolate..dont' come near me with that stuff!
crusty bread roll and, uh, "wholesome" soup

Not to mention...

beer (I like to think..)
butterscotch angel delight (I like to think..oh come on, it hasgot milk in it!!)

Basically just eat all the stuff you want, but minimise the crap! Get a balance..easier said than done, eh?

* maybee i'm biased..being a health-conscious veggie who's always eaten her greens!

You need to go cold turkey on sugar, get it all out of your system and you wont want it after a while.
Eat plenty of fibre, good carbs (such as brown pasta, brown rice, potatoes)
Eat more fruit, but don't eat too many grapes or bananas, as they aren't good foods for speeding up weightloss. You can of oourse eat them in moderation.

I've just been to the shops and brought lots of fruit, yoghurts and healthy stuff!

I am not going to change my diet overnight..it won't happen but hopefully I will gradually start eating better :smile:

Here's a tip one of my friends told me:
Every morning the moment u wake up drink a glass of warm water mixed with a teaspoon of honey
she lost ten pounds in one month...

it makes sense since honey is known to increase metabolism and drinking it with water will ensure quicker absorption into the body

It should be lemon not honey.
Honey is just like pure sugar, and has been found to have no positive effects on the body.

Nothing I suspect. I just know honey is not good for you, and if you were to try this, lemon would be the way forward because even if it doesn't work, you havent sent your blood sugar rocketing so early in the day.

honey is fine, but it wouldn't do anything for losing weight. i eat it quite a lot. lemon would taste like crap and do naff all.
