Not quite; but I've no doubt that you'll soon reconcile with the (arguably, even sadder) truth.

I rest my case.

Yeah, you were stupid to let some random guy buy you drinks and bringing them to you; that's how drinks get spiked. It was stupid, i re-iterate stupid.

That's just the utmost in paranoia.

With all due respect; I daresay you've a 'case' not even a jury could love.

How can people get fair trials if the jurors are told they can't use their consciences?

If jurors were supposed to judge "only the facts", their job could be done by computer. It is precisely because people have feelings, opinions, wisdom, experience, and conscience that we depend upon jurors, not upon machines, to judge court cases.

Unfortunately it's not really paranoia, it's just being sensible. You shouldn't accept drinks off random people, especially if it's a random guy who's blatently just getting you drunk.

Precisely.

That could be argued, but really - it totaly depends on the club/town your going too.

Buying a girl a drink is just standard boy meets girl tactics, spiking however I agree isn't!

lol i have no idea what you just said

Really? Then I can already tell you're going to just love case-law; should you permit me to pre-emptively disabuse you of the preconception that judicial vernacular is anything but several times more convoluted than my own, orotund and sesquipedalian parlance.

It's all part of the mating dance in Birmingham apparently.

But sensible advice is to be there when the drink is bought, preferrably get one in a bottle and watch it being opened in front of you, etc. I would do this no matter where I was, unless I knew the guy really well.

he was real sweet

Wow. Where I come from, if you give a drunk girl more and more alcohol and pry her number out of her you are seen as dodgy not sweet. Looks like he was the one doing the pulling :hmmm:

That happened to me once, it was my own drink though, lucky me my friends took care of me... I was totally gone!! 4 hours of my life gone for ever, don't remember a thing...

I've done so many stupid things   ahh, I don't even wanna start thinking about it...

I just ignore it and try not to make the same mistake twice :p: The worst part about a hangover, when the last night memories start sneaking up on you :frown:

No, it's actually being sensible. Some guy you don't know probably wants to get laid, he's buying drinks for her and could so easily slip in a widely available drug into it. It happens all the time in clubs; why do you think they tell you to never leave a drink un-attended? Why do they sell stoppers for bottles? I don't think it's paranoia, the harsh truth is you have to be vigilant in this society we live in because there are people who are very willing to take advantage. Perhaps the guy's intentions were innocent, but i for one know i wouldn't trust some person i just met buying drinks for me and having them out of my sight.

I totally agree... It's just that it is so easy to say right now... but when you're there... with a gorgeous guy, who seems to be really nice and you've already had quite a bit to drink... The last thing on your mind is whether he could be a potential rapist or not.
