english language and literature?!

hye, i've applied for english language and literature at chester (:
i'm just wondering if the english language part is based in analysing from literature pieces.. like at a level.
but i've read that the language part means we analyse how people talk, communicate and stuff D: and i really would not like that.

is it too late to change to just a full on english or literature degree, i just don't like the sound of the language part.

I don't think we do a full on English lit degree, only the combined honours-but don't quote me on that, I'm a second year doing lit with counselling skills. From what I gather yes, the language you would do here would be a continuation, looking at how people speak and so on. Beyond that, I'd suggesting talking to your school tutors, asap, and UCAS if possible, as I don;t know at exactly what stage you are int he application process.
