Smelly GHD's

I've had my GHD's since the end of October last year. I find now that when i turn them on, they smell weird (can't really describe it). What does it indicate? Should i take them to where i got them and see what they recommend? X

My straighteners (not GHDs) smell weird sometimes too, I think it's just like the hair products (heat protection spray, straightening balm, conditioner residue) I use burning or something.

Mine smell too and always have done.I think it's normal.

jus giv them a wipe when ur done...i put that much stuf in my hair it makes a smell like toast... very weird coming from a hair product

My hair actually smells when I use my GHDs sometimes....kind of a toasty smell like the poster above described.

lol yeah so do mine occasionally! i'm pretty sure it's the heat protection spray i use, it crackles and smells when i straighten my hair too soon after putting the spray on!
