OCR MEI C2 Maths exam

Thought this was easier than last time! How did everyone get on?

Also, the one question, Y= a+x^b..

Find logX in terms of Y a and b.. What did everyone do?

log10y-log10a over b but you could simplify to log10y/a over b

I did the same for that question. Does anyone know how the last question should have been done?! I panicked and couldn't work out how to get 1.55 radians for the angle.

And I wasn't sure about the part where you worked out how many seats there were in the different rows. I worked out the circumference and converted this to centimeters and then divided this by 80cm (how much space one seat takes up). Does this sound right to anyone?? I got something like 58 or 68, I can't remember.

Yeah you have an angle using the Arc Length = rX (usually Theta)

To find the number of seats I found the length of the circumference of the whole circle (2*Pi* x the radius) and then I found the arc length of the sector of the circle that was hidden by the stage.. Then the entire circumference - the arc length give the length of the front row.. Then divide that by the length of each seat, round down to the nearest seat and Bobs your uncle! (I hope!)
