Southampton Uni - Anyone else whose not into constant clubbing and getting drunk?

Heyy
As it's nearly semester 2, I thought it was time to make a serious effort to find people who still in the same situation as me.
I've found it difficult to settle in and gel with people as it seems everyone I come across party all the time and get so so drunk. That's really not for me as I wouldn't describe myself as a 'party animal'. I don't mind the occasional night out but when you aren't much of a drinker, clubbing isn't that fun. I'd rather go for a nice meal or to the cinema.
Is anyone else still finding it difficult to meet like minded people?

We've got a mix in our halls. Some go out more often than others. I don't go out that much, I've been ill and am out on placement at the moment. Quite happy to go and socialise in a mate's room and watch DVDs. Also can't afford it!
Why don't you look at some of the societies? They're not all drink based and you should find some like minded people.

Omg same >.< !!11111 I don't mind clubbing, but eh. Most of the time it's crappy music and for the same reason I don't really 'gel' with some of the people in that respect ~ >.< oh, I already did that smiley...

I'm in exactly the same position as you! The people I know are into their clubbing and I can't speak to my flatmates since they are mostly Chinese and speak their own language

I live in Bencraft though which is also a smaller halls than most. I have also decided that I should use semester 2 to meet people more like-minded to myself.

Yeah I'm also in a similar position to all of you guys! If only we could meet up with others in a similar situation.. oh wait
Haha indeedy-o. Bencraft court - that place next to the crematorium?! XD I moved to Bencraft a month ago! I used to be in Glen Eyre...so pretty *_*

Yeah haha Bencraft Court, what made you move out of Glen Eyre? I've been to Glen Eyre a few times, it seems alright

Girls in So'ton, that is all.
I moved out of Glen Eyre because I was twinned. Soooo I was the twin allocated to move out ;0

Yeah they messed up my accommodation application so I'm surprised I didn't get put in twinned rooms xD

Ah well at least it seems there are other people out there who feel the same way. I'm living in glen, Chancellors Court, which is nice accommodation but really isolated and antisocial if you don't get on with flatmates. I also have 3 internationals in my flat so it's not really easy to get to know them..

Oh cool, I'm living in Selbourne with only the one international student. Which block are you staying at?

Rubbing it in are we? Haha, well a lot of my mates tend to go to town with the people from their own flat too.

Though on the bright side I also got a pretty big room, plenty of room for posters which I'm in the process of plastering my walls with

Rubbing what in?
Was just saying that it was a bonus for me in a room deal which I didn't want.

Messed up accommodation application? I was sharing with an international student from Italy/Brazil who got to keep the room. :/ Ah well. I prefer Bencraft in terms of the people, it seems more close-knit than Glen Eyre.

It;s actually ok. Decent food most of the time. It's nice to come back after a day out on placement to a cooked meal.
