For forearms whats the best exercise using dumbells?

Zottman curls are pretty good along with normal wrist curls with DB's or BB.

weight sizes depend on build weight height and existing muscle.
i am 15, heavily built, 13 stone, 6ft1 and have benn weight training for over 2 years. For increased bulk on your arms 12 reps is best, i do 12 reps of 15kg on each arm around 3 or 4 times a day. spread your weight training into two sessions a day. One in the morning and one at night is a good plan.
it is normal for your arms to hurt the day after, continuing as normal will eventually become natural for your body and therefore not hurt any longer. hope this helps

The only thing I've changed is the amount of time I use to lift the weights. I lift the weight about twice as slower as I've heard it increases muscle mass.

When you do 12 reps, and you feel nothing as in you dont get the "burn" of lactic acid on ur final rep, then you've outgrown that weight and need to get something heavier, and also doing it slower doesnt increase muscle mass specifically, its just something that works out the body part more intensily and to its full extent.

I'm feeling low now because the obvious fact that I can never get arms like those just struck me :frown: I have no idea where to start.

Muscle tissue is made of up of two types, "slow twitch" and "fast twitch", one will respond to training better when using lighter weights at a higher repetition, while the other type will respond better to stimulation using lower repetitions at heavier weights.

Higher repetition programs with lighter weights will give you that ripped look, while heavier repetition workouts with heavy weights will add bulk. Genetics is key, everyone has areas of their body that need more attention than others so you tailor your program around "problem areas".

If all your working on is your arms, your going to look odd but ok, if thats what, in that case you don't need supplements, the extra calories are just going to go straight to your stomach and behind as fat.

You will be able to make vast improvements, but only if you stopped comparing yourself to a picture, and started eating and training properly. As things stand I'm not in the least bit surprised you feel low, and are going around in circles. I'm happy to help out, but the ball is in your court.
