Therefore i am gunno work my self out revisin, but for history i dont know how to. Does any1 have any tips on how to revise for history, as well as giving me any tips for the edexcel history exam.

I'm doing Edexcel History this year also and i would recommend learning facts but not seperately, learn them as consequences, reasons, features to certain events or themes. Also learn exam technique by doing past papers - the essays is where everyone loses the most marks so learn how to do them
I did OCR, but in terms of how to revise it's probably quite similar. Since there are sooooo many facts to learn in history, timelines can be very useful, colourful mind maps stuck on your wall might help and you could also make little cards for the key pioints that you could carry around with you. As the above poster said, exam technique is unfortunately very important for history, so practice timed essays and it might be an idea to read the specification so you know what's expected of you.
I was in much the same position as you last year. I was doing Edexcel History and got a B in the mock but got A* in the real thing, dont be downhearted. Gcse History is pasting as many facts onto paper as you can and jumping through the right hoops. Revise all the key dates and figures try making a chronological list if that helps, and then concentrate on the exam technique (especially the source paper) by simply doing past questions. It Should become second nature before long and make sure you stick to the point of the question dont get distracted and waffle like i did in the "how useful is this source blah .." Reading an examiners report wil be useful too.

make yourself notes - personally, things stick in more when I read my own handwritting and write stuff in my own way.
e.g.

1949 - NATO Treaty signed -> caused serious problems in US-Soviet relations.
reasons:
etc...

learn the key events - because in the text if you waffle - you'll be out of time - its just a matter of learning the points. i am in the same position as you, i've got just over a week till my history paper 1 modern china and the divided union - i havent touched a thing, my plan is to start tomorrow and do atleast 1h 30 a day - that probably might not be enough..but timelines.. notes...mind maps are the way forword
what ever u study in your class, everyday come home and recap on what u learnt in that lesson until u have nailed it.
good luck with upcoming exams.

have u got any advise for me, becuz i've got an exam tomorrow in the morning for history.
Okay first of all, you didn't really F anything up, you got a B and have about 4 months till exams so it's all good. My friend got a C in March mocks and ended up with an A* in history, so it's really not hard. Revision should be doing lots of past questions, and just going over the notes you did in class. Create a timeline and try to remember all the dates.
You're doing fine, my ill health meant i couldn't even be at school majoirty of the time, i was told by my teacher i was predicted a D but ended up with a B, i used to write out facts on small pieces of colourful card and then stick them up around a specific room. For instance if i remember correctly the bathroom i had science fact cards stuck everywhere. Anyway it helped me, it's just an idea!

Good luck!

Hi people, I'm quite confused on how to answer a 6 marker on the cuban missile crisis ( the events after the bay of pigs invasion), could somebody give an example answer that would be great!
