Are there any savage garden fans here?

I almost forgot how much I liked them until I listened to their affirmation cd again last night. I love the lyrics.

i believe the sun should never set upon an argument
i believe we place our happiness in other people's hands
i believe that junk food tastes so good because it's bad for you
i believe your parents did the best job they knew how to do
i believe that beauty magazines promote low self esteem
i believe i'm loved when i'm completely by myself alone

i believe in karma what you give is what you get returned
i believe you can't appreciate real love until you've been burned
i believe the grass is no more greener on the other side
i believe you don't know what you've got until you say goodbye

i believe you can't control or choose your sexuality
i believe that trust is more important than monogamy
i believe your most attractive features are your heart and soul
i believe that family is worth more than money or gold
i believe the struggle for financial freedom is unfair
i believe the only ones who disagree are millionaires

i believe in karma what you give is what you get returned
i believe you can't appreciate real love until you've been burned
i believe the grass is no more greener on the other side
i believe you don't know what you've got until you say goodbye

i believe forgiveness is the key to your unhappiness
i believe that wedded bliss negates the need to be undressed
i believe that god does not endorse tv evangelists
i believe in love surviving death into eternity

i believe in karma what you give is what you get returned
i believe you can't appreciate real love until you've been burned
i believe the grass is no more greener on the other side
i believe you don't know what you've got until you say goodbye

I used to love them too! Although, I'm not sure affirmation has their best lyrics "i believe that wedded bliss negates the need to be undressed" for example not the greatest! I love 'To the moon and back' and 'Two beds and a coffee machine' Hmm you've set me thinking i may go listen to their album now...

I used to like them. I have one of their albums: the one with Truly, Madly, Deeply on and To The Moon and Back. Although I think Affirmation is the best song of theirs I've heard. Always makes me feel good.

The only songs I like are Truly Madly Deeply, To the Moon and Back and I Knew I Loved You.

Interestingly enough, this week my mates and I wandered through a place in London named...Savage Gardens.

Yeh, I think Truly Madly Deeply is one of their best songs.

What's happened to Darren Hayes now? Is he still releasing singles?
The last I heard of him was when he released the Insatiable song which was ages ago...

I have both the albums...not sure whether to be embarassed or not!

I liked Break Me, Shake Me on the original album (the black and white one, Savage Garden) and Best Thing on the newer album (the blue one, Affirmation).

I LOVE Savage Garden, Affirmation is a great album; the album 'Savage Garden' is great too, but Affirmation has some top songs with amazing lyrics.
Only just really got into them when they split up !
I have Darren Hayes' 'Spin' album which sounds quite similar (obviously) and is alright but Savage Garden stuff's better

I used to love Savage Garden, even going to one of their concerts in America a few years ago. Affirmation has really great lyrics I think, but I also loved Two Beds and a Coffee Machine and I Don't Know You Anymore. I haven't bought any of Darren Hayes' stuff since the split though, too much on the poppy side for me.

I loved 'Two beds and a coffee machine' too. Did they ever release that? I thought it was the best song on the album.

I think it's unlikely since it was one of the last tracks on the album. I think Darren Hayes is still around but I personally didn't really like his album.
My best memory of them would be seeing them (on TV just in case you wondered!) playing at the opening ceremony of the Sydney Olympics.
I am just a little bit embaressed to own their albums, but hey, there's always a time for some good cheesy music!

No I don't think they ever released it . I've had to content myself with playing it on my piano, and making it my ringtone.

And Aylia, cheesy music is the best. The Final Countdown by Europe is one of my favourite songs, and I seem to be one of few people who admits to owning an Aqua album

Savage Garden are amazing!!! Got all their albums.

Shame they split - Darren Hayes is good on his own but not nearly as good as when they were both there!
