secondLy ... aLL teachers are mature .... its not lyk im harming their reputation or sumthng..or doing sumthng against them....lyk everyone has a right to chose watever he wants ...n if it aLL i try to transfer in 2nd year..iLL b pretty smooth....

n i cant take a GAP year .... cant waste one year over LSE ..
thx for the help Ba_Ba 1 ...

yeh work hard, get really good marks in your first year and you've got a chance going to LSE if thats what you REALLY want.

Just wondering why cant you waste a year to apply to lse again? You can get work experience which is good fun and looks good your CV or you can go travelling which is also very fun. What about doing a masters at lse once you've finished?

I've met a couple of people who've done that exact transfer. But, from what I understand, you have to be one of the absolute highest performing students.

Yes, you have to be a real genius with outstanding marks (and even in that case it may not be possible), otherwise everyone would do exactly the same and the school would be a joke.

may I ask what course did you apply to lse and what is your predicted grade? Yesterday? sounds a lot ppl are rejected on that day ! any one heard from maths and eco?

i applied for L101 n my predicted were 4 Az..i av one A already ....
weLL but i got to kno that 2 of my A-Level subjects are on the black list of LSE...
so its not reaLLy my fault coz i didnt av another option....
This is taken from the LSE website:

Year 2 Entry

Entry to Year 2 of a LSE course is extremely rare, except in exceptional circumstances. In most cases, the School is oversubscribed for its courses and cannot accommodate extra students.

Departments who do not accept applicants into the second year include:

LLB Law (M100)
Government (L230, LL12, LV21)
Management (N203)
Statistics (Actuarial Science N321, Business, Maths and Statistics G0N0)
However, some departments are willing to consider applicants on an individual basis, if they meet the stated entry requirements. Applications for entry to Year 2 should be made in the usual way through UCAS.

What ever you people say, on this forum, people have qualified to go into LSE.- from the External programme.
It's just that they don't have the funds to do so, not that they lack the BRAINS.

yep, I agree, a small number each year from the external programme qualify to go into the second year of LSE. Whether they apply or not, is another matter.
could anybody explain more about external programme?

I'm considering try to change from Oxford to a London uni in the second year for Geography. This is for personal reasons. I got into both LSE and UCL first time round.

Hi,
well, students under the UoL external programme can transfer, but they need to meet the minimum entry requirements.
The minimum entry requiremnets are passes in all four subjects of the diploma in economics with an average over sixty. That is a tall ask, considering the standard that is set, but not impossible, and with a dint of hard work you could get there. LSE external study does give a full scholarship to a malaysian student who secures distinction in the diploma in economics to transfer into the 2nd year of LSE

hey, do you know how i should write my personal statement?

You cannot join Yr2, if you reapply, it has to be Yr1. LSE makes this really clear
