Hmmmmmm. Maybe he just doesn't love you.

What a silly little thread. There isn't a "should" or who "shouldn't" say it first. What difference does it make anyway?

Reply 6

i'd say the guy but only because that is how it has always happened with me. plus i don't want to say it first incase he doesn't feel the same way :O

Reply 7

3 words and nothing more, it's not like they have to even be uttered to let someone know - i just think it's extremely cliché and has very little meaning.

it's hard with me and my bf cos we were good friends before we started going out... therefore i knew him and loved him anyway.

i think i love him. not ready to say it though. am still in the 'love you' stage.

however the other night we were cuddling on the sofa watching tv and he said it... well i think he said it in THAT way as it did sound slightly different to the light hearted way it'd been said before.

so i did what any girl would do and ignored him!

oops clicked wrong one

should have been "i'm a girl-me first"

my bf is very shy, if it had been downto him for the first move it'd have taken forever

Who cares who says it first? Sometimes it's expressed physically. Like a kiss and words don't even come out of either partner's mouths.

Neither does he!

Reply 12

Whoever feels it first? No-one should wait for their partner to say it since it's up to them to say it first.

Reply 13

In my experience (just the one) the guy said it first. But i dont think it matters at all. To be honest I think sometimes people say "I love you" too much. If you say it everytime you come off the phone etc I dont think it seems special anymore. But maybe Im just weird . . .

Ummm... who cares?

what is the point is playing games!? if you love them, tell them, if not don't. simple as.

Reply 15

the fact that both sexes expect the opposite to say so first explains why there is so little love in the world

Reply 16

none of the above, when ever you feel is right. I have been with someone for over 6 months and never told them. Didnt mean i wasnt attracted to her, and enjoyed her company, just was sure i was in love.

if you love them, tell them.

Not that simple. You can sometimes develop feelings for someone much quicker than you usually do. If you tell them so early and they don't feel the same way, you can just scare them off.

I wasn't aware of there being any kind of 'who should' issue about saying "I love you".. guess you learn something new everyday then.

With my boyfriend I said it first but it wasn't planned or anything, it just happened. And I most certainly didn't think that I should've said it first.
