If you used Clearing in 2024, how did you find it?

A little Advice

I know this is probably a common question, so i'm sorry beforehand.

My girlfriend started taking the pill 10 days after the start of her period. We gave it 7 days using condoms, then didn't use one, twice and i came inside her (this was after the 7 days of taking the pill), we decided to carry on using them after this.

Her last pill was Thursday morning, and she hasn't come on her period yet. Is there any cause for concern? Should we get a pregnancy test or just wait a couple more days? How long after the last pill should the period take to come?

She's on the Combined pill, 21 days on 7 days off.

If she's only just started taking the pill, then it will take her body a while to adjust. As long as she's followed the instructions properly (i.e. that the pill offers protection after 7 days) then there shouldn't be any cause for concern.
If it helps, I stop taking my pill on a thursday, and don't start my period til Sunday, so this isn't an unusually long gap xxx

I stop for my week off on a saturday, and my period doesn't usually come til friday, so there's probably nothing to worry about. it will take several months to get into a regular pattern.

As others have said..most likely there is no cause for concern, as long as she has been correctly taking her pills and has not missed any. It always takes me several days to start my 'period' whilst I'm on the pill. Can take up to 5 days for it to begin. Leave it a few days and she will probably have come on.

Ok - thanks. I guess the fact she's worrying doesn't help either, i've heard that can delay it too?

Why don't women have a button to test if they are pregnant or not? lol :smile:

yeah i have a huge gap too.. sometimes my period doesn't come until i start my next pack.. soooo... that has been a cause for concern a few times.
saying that, i don't trust the pill 100% and eventhough me and my bf don't use condoms, i never let him finish inside me..
plus, i know it took my body months to adjust to the pill, simply because i started taking them more for period pain, and the pain didn't stop until around 3 or 4 months after i started taking it..

What pill is she on? The pills i've tried tell you to start taking them on the first day of your period. If that's the case maybe it's mucked up her cycle a bit. xx

the more she worries the longer it will be before she comes on. theres a small chance shes pregnant so try and tell her not too worry. xxx

You can't help but worry in this sort of case, but the only way to know and put your mind at rest short of waiting 9 months is to take a pregnacy test. That way you'll know. I'm sure she isn't but sometimes it helps to see the little blue line
