getting rid of blackheads

well i have a load of blackheads all over my nose and i have no idea how to get rid of them , i have tried things like clearasil stuff and tea tree oil but nothing seems to get rid of them, i just wondered if anyone knows a way to get rid of them cos it doesnt look so attractive!!

i dont get bothered an awful amount by other spots, and when i do i can deal with them but i have no idea how to get rid of these blackheads!

Well you could always buy a blackhead extractor! Yes they do exist. Circular metal thing that you put over blackhead and apply pressure and admire the lovely gunk that comes out.

i seem to get some on my checks and when i get rid of it, the next day a full blown spot appears there, maybe it gets infected. But they are a real pain though, my bro uses a knife on his schnos, 45 degree angle and all comes out.

Go to a salon for a professional facial once. They will do all your extractions for you and you won't have to look at the ick, and then you can start fresh with the tea tree oil and stuff as a prevention rather than a cure.

cool will they sort them all out for u then? i thought facials just made skin soft and put moisturiser on and stuff, also there r so many types i wouldnt know what to ask for! cool that would be good may have to fork out for that if they work...

but seeing all the ick come out is the fun part!

Pore strips.

Effectively glues the surface of the blackhead onto a sticky sheet, so when you pull it off it pulls the blackhead with it.

ive tried pore strips they only seem to get a couple of them not the majority...does any else think that going to a salon and getting a proper facial would work well?

no.i dont think so.i think it is cuz of oil glands. the more oily ur face is, the more likely u get the blackheads.nothing rly works against them.even if u squezze, something else will appear. the only option is just to wait till u get rid of teenage phase.

Teenage phase?!?!? I've had acne since I was 7 and I'm now 23.

Alot of people don't grow out of it so they have to find an alternative solution.
I think a facial is best, if you go for one at a beauty salon as opposed to a beauty salon in a department store (I had a Clarins one in House of Fraser at my cost..she didn't go near the blighters!) they should whip em all out for you. You could ask when you phone up for an apppointment whether they'll extract the blackheads. Facials are soooo relaxing and feel yummy.

Once you've got a clean slate to start with you can try some of the preventative gels etc that you can buy in the chemist.

girls experience more problems.acne is generally less common for males.

Natural remedy is put a bit of lemon on the place where the spot is before going to sleep.

there are some strips you can get which cling onto the dirt which cause blackheads. you put them on wet, and as they dry, they cling, and when completely dry you take the strip off and weeeh  pulls them all out.

alternatively you could just squeeze em... put some hot water on your nose to open the pores, and then have a little fun..

aspirin works great for spots, and apparently is good to use as an exfoliator for blackheads. Not sure how to use it for blackheads, but for spots you crush up an aspirin, mix it with water and leave it on a spot overnight.

you mean biore strips???
i wouldn't bother with them. they're really quite expensive and don't even work. but maybe that's just me!
Can extraction be done without having facials at the salon? And how much does it usually cost?
