Yep I know. I went to see the uni for an open day.

And I ain't kidding you, the first street I drove down was massive, and every house was also massive, mansion type buildings. Honestly every single house must've been worth at least £300,000 not one delapidated, shoddy terrace thing there. I was amazed.

Ah, they are turning that street into loads of flats, but the houses there are nice. There are more bigger houses around Winchester too. But as a student, there are quite a few cheaper areas too. If you need any information on Winchester, PM me, i've lived there all my life. :p:

I was thinking of going, it was my second choice after Nottingham. I'm going there now tho. But Winchester seems lovely and I'm sure I would have liked it there :biggrin:

I'm not, but my friend is, and he said it's a really nice place. He's doing creative writing. But he's scared of not making friends and everyone hating him.

My boyfriend mark is going, he's studying Modern History. He's a little worried he's not going to make friends with anyone and stuff.

sure everyone whose going is thinking the same, winchester has a reputation as a small friendly uni, so that is why i am not to concerned about that. Both my cousins went there and loved it, one reason why i first looked at it, and decided i liked the campact feel of the campus, no bus to catch to lectures like at some city unis!

A potentially useful source of information for all you new students (and current ones) could well be the Wincehster Uni page on TSR Wiki.

Unfortunately nothing has been added yet, so if any of you here think you could add information or anything under any of the headings on the page, then please do so. It will help create a great reference point on here for everyone.

Also Vicky, I am thinking you know of Lisa - or at least Lisa's Mum, from the States... She's going too... and doing Psychology, hence another cool one, we should meet up at the uni. I'm gonna meet this Lisa, she's gonna be kinda scared coming all the way from California, so I think it'd be nice to help her settle and be nice etc... You should come too, it'd be great a whole posse of wintonians.
Are you catered, or not. I haven't been told yet on what my accomodation will be, but my first choice is self-catered non en-suite... and then en-suite as second chioce...
Betcha cool either way, cus psychology is:

Wahoo yes I'm very cool, and yes I know Lisa's mum lol. I'm going from gd old londonian, I was going to do journalism with psychology but I think im going to do english now. My first choice accommodation is self catered ensuite and my second would be non ensuite but I really want ensuite I'll die without it! Ok mebbe thats a little dramatic but I really want it! I did some uni shopping 2day, duvet, pillows etc, SO much fun!
