Hey guys anyone else doing film at Winchester this year? Also regarding housing if you gave in your form before the 1st of August your garanteed a place in halls and you will find out in the first week of september where were staying, well thats what I was told when I called. Hope that helps some ppl.

hi guys! just finished my first year at winch and loved it! those lucky people who get to live on westdowns will see me out and about promoting the best indie electro new wave alt club night in winchester (ignore the student union one!) its at Bar 31 in town and its got superb djs, free giveaways of champagne, cheap drinks and a chance to sign up to the guest list when term kicks in as its usually a busy one! and of course the gorgeous girl on the door taking your money if your silly enough not to come before 10 o clock (when its free) it really is a good night out, so enjoy!!

Has anyone had their accomodation come through in the post yet? My friend had his arrive today and he's not where he applied for (not even 2nd or 3rd choice), so I'm now super-worried. We both applied in good time so it seems very odd.

I got mine. I asked to be put in the en-suite in the noisy bit but ended up with a shared bathroom in the quiet bit. Ah well not a major problem I'm sure I'll enjoy it all just the same :smile:

I'm doing Film Studies along with English as well. It's less than a month to the start of enrollment...this summers gone too quickly.

I know It's only a couple of weeks to go! I was very lucky with housing and got an ensuit.

I applied for a smoking room, with en suite in west downs ageeeees ago, but have been given a non smoking, non en suite, limited facilities room in st swithins house, does anyone know what this place is???

I'm going there on the 17th to do teaching, although I will probably be thrown off my course for not being able to complete the work placement's they asked us to do. The programme director messed up on that one though, not me :frown:

Got into West Downs, which was what I was after. I wanted en-suite too but got shared. No big deal though, at least you get a bigger room! What house are you in, if you don't mind me asking?

Im apllying also vicki for a business course in for 2008. I m going to choose it because the area is extremly nice, as it says in the prospectus, it was voted number one place to live in the uk out of 435 on channels 4's best and worst places to live, so that must be good.

I was abit worried about it not being that good because its only just become a uni and the entry requirements are kinda low but a close knit community is what im after and its got a very good ranking for a uni which has only just got uni status.

Theyve also just added the new 9m student union and another reason is because I wanted to live right near the campus and not have to get a bus or anything and its only 45 minute drive from my house so its fairly close but im still going to live there. If i had decided to live far away i wouldnt of chosen a place like winchester.

Is anyone going to Winchester Uni this year?
