Sun Beds

Bit of a silly question, and im not looking for a lecture on the danger of sunbeds, so please dont post unless you can give advice :smile:

I dont tan at all, because i have fair skin. But if i were to use a sunbed, just the once, would i tan under that? Or just burn?

you'd burn. fair skinned people, or people with freckles or moles shouldn't use sunbeds.

It depends how long for really, i would't recommend any longer than around 6 mins if you're fair and it'd be the first time. xx

i wouldn't use a sun bed anyway... they cause cancer :O

funny, watching final destination 3 has put me off not only these, but rollercoasters, weight training places, and DIY stores... haha.

Call me a wuss, but some friends got me to go to see it with them last week. It was horrible! How many disgusting deaths were there? The sunbed ones were the worst because they went on so long. I prefer less gory films.

So basically you don't really want advice, just someone to pat you on the back and tell you what you want to hear.
if you have type 1 or 2 skin (only burn and burn first then tan respectively) then sunbeds are a bad idea.
You wouldn't have unnecessary X-rays would you - so why have unnecessary doses of UV.

If you have fair skin you will burn. irrelevant of the source. even if you don't burn you will damage your skin, both increasing risk of future skin diseases, and also generally making your skin crummier as you get older.

Just get fake tan or, if you want a top notch job go to one of these fake tan applying shops where you get a real good quality do over.

because lets be honest - it wouldn't jus tbe once. it'd be once until next time you wanna wear a skirt.

Do yourself a favour. Steer clear.

Yea, I really wouldn't!! I have olive skin and thought I was looking a litle bit sallow this week so used one of the stand up ones for the first (AND LAST!!) time, despite knowing full well how dangerous they are. The woman in the shop recommended 9 mins..and when I came out I noticed a sign saying "Don't use Booth 2 for more than 6 mins"..which was mine! My skin has been feeling really sore, though it's not burnt, despite applying copious amounts of moisturisers. Then somebody has since told me you aren't supposed to go on for more than 4 mins if you've never done it before. Stick to the fake tan or being natural-coloured??

seriously mate, go watch it. chances are probably of it (not saying what cos dont wanna spoil it just in case you do wanna watch it) happening are pretty slim, but hey, any excuse to go to the cinema, waddya say?
