How do I answer?

When I meet people they sometimes ask if I have a bf and when I tell them no they say 'why not' as though girls my age (19) are supposed to have bf's :confused:

I can never think of anything to say, I can't really say I don't want one it'l seem odd. The truth is guys don't really notice me so Ive never had the opprtunity I don't go clubbing, guess I can blame my looks lol but I can't say that to people that ask.

The same happens if I go to a chat room online, Im not a computor geek btw lol.

I get that question from relatives all the time, I never know what to say either. Usually I just shrug it off and change the subject.

I hate it when family ask about your love life, even if i do have a boyfriend i say i dont coz i dont want the million questions.

My motto: You will know about my love life when im married and i introduce you to my husband lol.

Are you between guys?
Or have you just had no luck?

Depending on which is true (or something else), say so. Although number three sounds better if you say something like "not found anyone I'm interested in yet" or something like that. Honesty should do the trick, no?

When people say, 'Why not?', why don't you just say, 'Why should I?'.

Seems a pretty pointless thing to be bothered about but then, I'm not you.

I've never had a boyfriend until last year and i'm 17 and now i'm on my second. I have no idea how it happened and before i don't think anyone ever expected someone like me to ever have a boyfriend.
Some people never have a boyfriend/gf until their 20's don't worry and if someone asks use a wise crack they always did for me.

People of 19 years old arent SUPPOSED to have boyfriends. Its better not to - prevents you cheating while at university. Have fun your 19!

Tell them it's none of their business why you don't have a boyfriend. You have no obligation to go out with anyone, and they're just sticking their nose in it.

don't make a big deal out of it- just say you prefer being single and it's more fun when you're 19!
That's a weird question to ask.... who is this exactly? I mean a cheesy chat up line I can see (why havn't you been snapped up yet and all that rubbish...) but family and friends? That's weird....

When they ask you 'why not', ask them if they jump through hoops of burning spoons in fields of barley, then when they say 'no' ask them 'why not'

Because asking 'why not' truly is a stupid question in this context

I get this question quite a lot. There's a very simple, but very effective answer.

Them: So, what's a girl like you doing without a boyfriend?
You: I don't really want one at the moment. I'm so busy, if I had a boyfriend, something else in my life would have to go.

How do I answer?
