Defrosting sausages

So I took 2 sausages out of the freezer to defrost for dinner tomorrow at about 7pm.

Is 24 hours too long to defrost sausages? I know it should be at least 12 hours, but is 24 hours too long?

I don't want to get ill!

How long can you keep sausages for after thawing?

EDIT: Should have added that they're in the fridge!

Well since you'll be cooking them you're unlikely to get ill.

Just leave them to defrost in the fridge?

This is someone that doesn't seem to have considered you can cook sausages from frozen, I'm not sure adding another layer of complexity is a good idea here.

Good planning ahead. I had to defrost mine in the microwave earlier.

Just put them in the fridge to defrost.

I don't like doing that, always end up burning the outside to charcoal haha.

You could also just defrost it in the microwave by the way OP. You mentioned it while I was typing lol.

They'll be fine. You could leave them in the fridge for a few days without any problems.

I tend to defrost my meat on the countertop all day long.
To be fair if I get a chicken out at about 7pm i'll likely put it in the fridge about 4pm the next day and cook it at about 6.

I've had stuff defrosted on the countertop and left in the fridge for days. Never had food poisoning, the trick is not to be overly careful.
