You can get shopping delivered sometimes.
Stealing shopping trolleys is bad {waggles finger}

In general, I think no. Generally you won't have more than you can carry though.

Just only shop when you need a few bits n bobs...if your parents come up with a car...then do a big shop!

Or get a friend with a car!

They woldnt notice. Just wheel it away with yor food and as long as you take it back, its fine

Ok I know this is probably a bit of a weird thread, but I'm thinking in advance...

If I go out shopping to the supermarket and buy loads of food for uni, could i steal a shopping trolley then bring it back? Cos I might have loads of bags which I can't carry...

Or do some supermarkets let you borrow shopping trolleys?

If you can lie with the embarrassement of pushing a shopping trolley from the supermarket to your uni house then do it.

I doubt the supermarket would like the idea of you running off with a shopping trolley, but you said you would return it. But I also doubt the supermarket is going to send someone chasing after you for it back...apparently they loose so mny each year that I doubt one more would bother then.

Just out of interest, my Mum once brought the shopping home in a supermarket trolley. But then it was the Christmas shop and she did work in the supermarket herself....lol

I don't intend to keep the shopping trolleys forever - just borrow them, because supermarket plastic bags dig into my hands when I'm carrying them, expecially when there's heavy things like orange juice...

Hmmmm getting the parents to take me shopping sounds like a good idea - i might even be able to get them to pay!

you could get a trolley bag, they're very useful. they're made of cloth or canvass, generally tartan and pulled by old ladies. but can be used by students if you can stand the uncoolness :p:

You know, they might just become 'cool' if enough students started using them...I might go out and try to buy one. I used to love pushing them when shopping when I was about 5...

alternatively you could use a travellers' trolley bag which you can take on trains and are a bit cooler, but harder to load perhaps

I got so fed up with carrying a load of shopping bags I now use tesco home delivery. Its a godsend
I have one you can borrow, it's in my garden. Me and my dad foudn it in a park, and we were planning on having a bonfire. Old washing machine drum on top of shopping trolly = perfect pikey bonfire setup.
Most supermarkets have comfy bags for about 50p instead of plastic ones, healthier for the enviorment too! I just use those. Or just take a rucksack, as it's easier to carry the heavy stuff on your back anyway, that is what most people do here.

I use a rucksack too. Plus at some places trolleys have thingys (not sure what to call them) that cause the wheels to lock when the trolley goes out the car park.

Some supermarkets now have magnetic things on the trolley wheels, and if you try to take them out of the car park the wj#heels lock and wont move.

I saw a trolley today with "If I am lost please phone my owner" on, so you could pretend to have found it and let them collect it!

Get your parents to take you for a huge shop every 6 weeks or so- buy lots of cans and dried goods that wont go off! And heavy things like OJ, Coca-cola, etc. Then if you have lots to buy during term time take a backpack or order online and get it delivered. If you go to Iceland you can do your shopping, leave it at the till and they will then deliver it. The big Tesco near here has shopping trolleys whose wheels locks when you take them out of the car park, but there are the odd few whose wheels don't. We did steal one once when there was like 6 of us, but dragging it back when the wheels didnt turn was way more effort than it was worth!!
