No green tea I have ever had has tasted like fish... Was there something wrong with the particular substance you tried perchance?

I had some once that was a bit fishy. Get the one with lemon in from Twinnings - bootiful!

Reply 3

Yeah, it has quite a distinctive, bitter, tangy taste... I suggest you stir in some honey to sweeten it up

I love green tea! I think black tea just tastes too.. umm.. unhealthy :p:
But no, it shouldn't really have a fishy taste. Try different brands and variations, it might've just been one bad batch. I find that some green teas taste awful while others are lovely. The best one I had was Lotus something - good stuff. So go on, explore!

I have Green Tea sometimes- Father Christmas bought me some this year  So I feel compelled to have it all! I have it to feel healthy- not to relax- that's what regular tea and hot chocolate's for!

I've tried green tea on its own and eww, i didn't like it at all. But I have tried green tea and lemon and it was alot nicer. Try green tea with some other flavours

yeh, I got some at the weekend, as far as I can see from the box it is just plain green tea, and it doesn't really taste like anything. I never drink hot drinks so I couldn't tell you what it tastes like in comparrison to regular tea
Green Tea is nice with orange, pinapple or grapefruit (though personally I like it on it's own)

Green tea is awesome.

'Specially on it's own

I like my green tea with honey..helps take away the bitter taste.

Never had any green tea that tasted like fish. As others have suggested, shop around as different brands have different tastes.
Fruit tea is very good for you if you never get used to the taste of green or mint tea...Twinings and Whittard are very good.

I tried Green Tea because its supposed to have health benefits (hence the thread is here), but it tasted kind of fishy. ^o)

Should it taste like fish?
Does anyone have any ideas for making it taste better?

Also, is it possible to filter out tannins in tea?

Thanks!

was the cup clean?

get a different brand... or failing that goto your local chinese resturant and they'll let you buy the proper stuff they get from the chinese market.

i drink green tea with a a taste of lemon...once i drunk a real green tea, i was near to vomit :frown: so if it has some other taste it is great!! u can also add some honey in it i guess, so it will taste better...and then, after a while you will just get used to that tea!!!

Yes El Scotto the cup was clean. So I guess I'll try it with honey and lemon juice (not together though).

Thanks for all the suggestions!
