Falling Out With Friend

Basically, I've had a falling out with my friend, and I need to know what to do.

Today, last lesson, we had a Science test. The teacher told us to stop at the end, and hand in all of our papers. My friend, however, carried on writing. I went over, and told her to stop - 1) because if she does it in the real GCSE, she'll be kicked out, so for her own good. 2) because it's unfair she gets extra time to finish. She started getting really mad, and after the lesson, walked off. I had to stay behind to sort out some c/w, so when I went to registration, the rest of the class was there, but she wasn't. I went off to our lockers, and waited there for a while, because her coat was in my locker. She didn't turn up, so after about 5 mins, I put her coat back in my locker, and went home, so she didn't have her coat to walk home. I only went home because I needed the toilet and didn't want to wait at school. So basically, I didn't see her after she left the science lesson.

I think I'm in the right and she overeacted. What do you think and what should I do? If I'm missing anything from my story, tell me, and I'll try to explain. Thanks.

Personally, I hate it when pps get overly self-righteous about things. So yeh, the whole "stop writing" issue would have annoyed me.

She may have been having a bad day, no doubt made worse by the fact that she was forced to walk home in the freezing cold with no coat...

she was probably already having a crap day and instead of being there for her you made it worse by acting all perfect and teachers pet

I only told her to stop writing as I felt it was unfair. Everyone else in the class managed to complete a 6 question Science paper in the 45 mins, so why can't she? The coat thing is really her own fault. She knew it was in my locker, and that I wouldn't be prepared to wait all that time for her to come to the lockers.

I don't really think she was having a bad day - she had been laughing most of it.

I did tell the teacher, but this teacher favours her more than other pupils, because my friend can achieve high in her science work ,but needs an extra push.

It's not a falling out, a disagreement - she'll get over it.

I'm sure you meant well but if I was your friend I would be annoyed too. I don't see how it's really your place to tell her when to stop writing. She may really struggle with the work and you then coming over to tell her to stop writing may have stressed her out even further. Yeah so it may be unfair, but does that really affect you? At the end of the day if she runs out of time during the actual exam then it's her loss, not yours. You should probably just let her get on with it in future, it's up to her what she does.

I would have told you to **** off and mind your own business as well. Apologise and tell her to keep her coat in her own locker. Kids.

Her coat was only in my locker because her keys went missing.

Edit : sorry, confusing TSR and MSN

You're welcome, just telling it as it is. She really will get over it, if you lose her because of that it doens't say much about your friendship in the first place.

What I'm worried about is how to get over this hitch in our friendship. We won't break up, 'cos we're too close for that.

Play it by ear. She might apologise or even just ignore it tomorrow. If worst comes to worst just do a simple apology even if you don't feel you were in the wrong and she should get over it.

That's what my other friend suggested too. Thanks.

when you see her again just tread lightly but act friendly and then if she's all normal again then fine but if she's still mad at you then say sorrry and be careful around her until she comes round. it should be alright, she'll realise it's a silly thing to fall out over and be your friend as normal in no time  she might have been having a case of good ol' pmt and you didn't help that, but i don't think you're in the wrong.
