HELP my Mother found out i was watching porn
God knows how, but my mum found out that I was watching porn, I delete my history everytime im finished watching it and all, so i have literally no idea. Im 17 and have been watching it for a fair while, I've been trying to explain to her that its perfectly normal for a teenage boy to be watching it, cos we all have raging hormones. but she aint buying it. she thinks what happens in porn, that I will replicate in real life, but I know that women arent objects, they are people. i have loads of friends that are girls and wouldnt even think of doing what they do in porn. I dont watch any of the pure hardcore stuff, so i dont know what she's so angry about. my dad wasnt to bothered. can anyone give me any advice to explain to her that it is kinda normal for teenagers to do this?
I've never been caught. I never do it when anyone's in, or that I know they'll be away for a long time. But remember, most parents now with teen kids didn't get the internet for porn, nor are they used to the notion. The more recent generation of parents will know to give their kids privacy for the internet. I personally was about 13 when I used the internet for porn, so for my kids that'll be when I consciously tell them they're allowed more privacy, unless I find clues earlier or am asked for it.

It doesn't matter because characters you create out of bodies in porn have no feelings, I'd say they're like robot girlfriends or sexdolls. But IRL it is so much more intimate and loving. I don't know if such a culture is misunderstood by actual rapists who think they're in their animalistic fantasies, but it is amazing how the most loving and caring people can get turned on by such objectification.

How are the women degraded?

Also: OP your mum was probably just a bit shocked and didn't know how to react the reality is that a lot of people will watch porn at somepoint and if she doesnt like it then maybe you should just drop the subject with her and carry on watching it a little more carefully (even though you dont know how she found out)

To watch porn is absolutely normal. And the truth is, that if people wouldn't be so conservative when it came to sex, we wouldn't have to watch it. Sex is not a bad thing. yet, society portrays it in that way. Don't get yourself down about this, your mother, being from an older generation just doesn't understand what is normal now. It shows to the people watching that women can just be used as sex objects and that they're nothing more than creatures to fullfill their sexual needs. Quite a few women are forced into the industry so are only consenting because they have no choice.

teenage boys and girls, adult men and women, watching porn, its what happens. and yes he does have the right to do it as porn isnt illegal.
Any reason why you have to be a snipey little thing and say if you can actually get a girlfriend.

I dont understand...the men are also having sex are they not? so how is it that they aren't also being used as objects for sex.
Even so, they consent. Two consenting adults having sex is very much a common occurance, do you shout about being degraded every time you have sex?
It's for enjoyment! I watch porn on a regular basis, lesbian porn more than anything....are they both degrading each other? Both using each other as objects? Which ones being used? What about gay male porn? no women = fine? is that logical?
No is the answer by the way, they consent, they accept money to do something they enjoy and have often gone to great lengths (plastic surgery etc) just to get into the industry because it's what they want to do.
It's not degrading at all it's enjoyable. They enjoy sex, they have good bodies and get to flaunt them at will. The public often rely on pornos for a good time, someone's enjoyment depends on these people having good enjoyable sex, thats not degrading, it's empowering.
And on your original post you said "get laid, thats if you even can get a girlfriend" a lot of couples watch porn together, it's exciting, it's a turn on, it's sexy and it can help give people a really good sex life.

Clare~bear, I would like to say that I am a woman and I watch porn for my own enjoyment, I also suggested to my partner that we watched it as a couple! I think that most porn isn't degrading at all, and the porn actors enjoy doing it. (Although I do think some of the stuff on efukt is a bit disgusting and degrading to men and women.)

I know it's common with teenage boys to watch porn, but mom probably wanted you to respect ladies by not looking at porn or anything showing sexy ladies.
