Ms

My GF has suspected MS, she's had it since before I knew her. But for the six months i've known her i've seen zero change in her symptoms.

Apparently when she was first diagnosed with it she used to get pins and needles in her hands and often drop things, she would also have uncontrollable twitches throughout her body fairly frequently.

Throughout the time i've known her however, the only symptoms i've seen are occasional twitches (like the sort everyone gets when they're about to fall asleep) when she's relaxed i.e. lying down on the bed, and she get's tired pretty easily.

My question is, do all people who have MS eventually end up really ill? Or are the symptoms extremely varied from person to person.

I worry about her loads :frown:

sounds like the symptoms are so varied between different ppl that u dont know whats going to happen next. your gf is lucky to have u there for support tho. i dont know much about ms except what i have been told by one of my old teachers who had it (who btw manage to have a normal life and a demanding job untill she was in her late 40s) gl. it cant be easy. especially if u dont *know* its ms.

My aunty was diagnosed a few years ago. She cant do a full time job any more but she does some volenteer work. She seems to have good days and bad days. All I can say is that it takes a wide variety of time periods for it to get worse; sometimes years. You just have to carry on being there for her if you can and wait and see. Good luck hun.
That's terrible. I am sure there's plenty of phone lines you could ring to get some answers you deserve. Additionally, try emailing a few websites. They'd be more than willing to tell you advice. I wish you the very best of luck sweetheart.

People with MS can normally lead normal lifes. Doing exercise has been shown to help MS and slow relapses. I mean, MS can be very serious but also only the occasional symptoms as well. The best thing is not to worry...
Sorry, what is MS?
