Yes, I would agree. I'm loath to take the shine off ICL physics but it's not that great. The good reputation comes from the research, which is certainly top-notch, but the teaching/tutorials/pastoral care ain't all that. Basically it comes down to learning stuff for yourself with your notes and a lot of tea/coffee, because in my experience the tutors are fairly indifferent. That being said, the Profs themselves are very accessible, but most people simply don't have the confidence/initiative to go to them directly.

Can someone tell me more about st andrews. I'm an international student. St andrews offers foundation program. I thought of doing the foundation and then continue to physics & astronomy undergraduate. But I hardly heard of st andrews. it is top 3 UK in physics.
