I know it sounds very sick .... but it happens .... :hmmm:

How distant? My dad's counsin's cousin, who is no relation to me by blood, hit on me. I've known him my whole life, he baby sat for me when I was younger and he's always been like a cool older cousin. I know his family better than I know most of my blood relatives and although I had a crush on him when I was little I'd never really thought of him that way before. It was weird.

People use to marry their cousins all the time, some still do even today.

Besides, if its your distant cousin, its not like you are blood related (well closely)

My cousin came to live with us a couple of years ago... he was about 25 and I was 15. He never actually hitted on me but he used to make comments like 'I saw this girl who was as fit as you...', etc and told me he had a threesome with two 15 year old girls. It really grossed me out, but more because he was an arrogant slob than him being my cousin!! :p:

there's already a threa about this. just dig back a bit. it's normal i used to fancy him before and vice versa,but obviously we're cousins so can't do anything about it.we're just really close now and we still joke about and even flirt sometimes but that'a as far as it'll go.

yeh lol that nearly happened to me,then i got told he was my cousin,i'm not sure it'd have worked though coz he is older by quite a bit but i swear i blushed everytime he looked at me :rofl:

Gotta say it is pretty sick. For lots of reasons marrying cousins is wrong - mainly to do with increasing spread of disease + having mutant children. Maybe not distant ones but in-bred villages come with a host of problems, if you're lucky enough to live in a developed country then maybe they will be less severe- learning difficulties, or just being funny looking!
This is my opinion + I'm sure lots of people disagree but there is research to back it up- there are education programmes going in in India I think to cut down the prominence of a (genetic I guess) disease that is spread by marrying cousins. Wish I could remember what it was.
Hmm apart from that my only boy cousin is about 6!
However my Dad is adopted + doesn't know his biological family so I guess there's a chance I might marry my cousin :eek:

. Maybe I'll adopt children.

I've never fancied my cousin and vice versa.
But once my aunt suggested we would make a cute couple- cue me making a sick face and talking utter digusted.
He has a bloody ASBO. Oh, and we are blood related... it's very wrong IMO.

Cousins have different genes you do not get mutant children form marrying cousins. All over the world people used to marry their cousins, it was a family thing, if marrying cousins spawned mutant children there would be a lot more mutants in the world.

I also know of physical prove of this. The couple who use to live down my road were first cousins and they had two children. Both were perfectally healthy and there was nothing wrong with them at all.
